As old customers of the Hamburg bar, we hoped that it would simply get better, but unfortunately for me it was a change for the worse. The staff is tense when the boss is inside, the same people as in Hamburg but no more smiling and chatting. The food... hmmm, very small portions (compared to the portions in the previous place) and the price for this portion is slightly excessive. The drinks menu is poorly described, just the names of the drinks don't say much, the ingredients are also needed to know what I like. And the drinks themselves are a glass of ice + a little alcohol and some additives.The desserts are delicious, but so small that a guy would probably need 4 to taste them 🙈. I was at first pretty reluctant to go to yet another wannabe 'tapas' place, because most of these places in Belgium aren't that great and mostly disappoint. Here however, everything we selected to eat was hand made using the finest quality for the ingredients. Na de reviews op Google gelezen te hebben, dacht ik het te moeten stellen met een kleine portie — maar dat bleek uiteindelijk niet het geval. Kort samengevat, en zoals ik het begrepen heb, is het de bedoeling dat je eerst een voorgerecht en daarna een hoofdgerecht bestelt, waardoor je samen een volwaardige maaltijd hebt. Het voorgerecht bestaat dan uit kleinere gerechtjes waar iedereen aan tafel van kan proeven. Wij, met z’n drieën, zijn meteen voor het hoofdgerecht (en daarna een nagerecht) gegaan: Gamba’s en 2x Osso Buco. Wat ons betreft waren de porties zeker voldoende. En het is sowieso beter om eventueel brood of pasta bij te vragen dan eten te moeten weggooien omdat het teveel is. De gerechten waren allemaal zeer lekker en de bediening was top. De jobstudente, die onze gerechten bracht, was echt supervriendelijk. Er werd regelmatig gevraagd of alles in orde was en of we nog iets nodig hadden — wat ons betreft alleen maar positieve opmerkingen. Ik maak graag af en toe een gevatte opmerking tussendoor, waarvan niet altijd meteen duidelijk is of ze positief of negatief bedoeld is — gewoon om te zien hoe iemand daarop reageert.
