De Degustatie — Restaurant in Malle

Good atmosphere and very nice staff. Very clean and nice interior. I ordered the "mosselen degustatie"/ "mussels" with bacon, mushrooms and Brugse Zot (Belgian beer) but the bacon was soft and didn't have much taste/ seasoning the mushrooms didn't had ANY seasoning. It tasted like it was cooked in the mussels water. Normally when I get mussels at a restaurant with extra vegetables or condiments, they get cooked seperatly and added to the mussels before serving. If they had done that, the dish would be a lot more tastefully. And I actually didn't taste the beer at all. I love mussels, but if I would go back, I would just choose the one with white wine. My boyfriend is vegetarian and there was only 1 veg dish on the menu. It was a vegetable with quinoa dish, but it was so bland , just steamed or even blanched vegetables with quinoa. No flavor at all, which was a disappointment. It had no color and no taste, no sauce either. We went to this restaurant because as a vegetarian often the only thing he can eat is "vegan burger". We expected more and were actually excited, but he left hungry and disappointed.

Its nice and all, however the food lacked flavour. We arrived at 7 and we started eating our main course at around 8. The menu could use some expanding. We hadden nog een kleine bon van de cadeaubox en mijn echtgenoot en ik kozen hier beiden voor het dagmenu. Een zalmmousje werd ons eerst aangeboden als amuse en was al een mooi begin en nodigde uit naar meer. Het menu begon met een pastinaaksoep met overheerlijk brood. Nadien was er de keuze tussen zeebaars of parelhoenfilet. Beiden zeer verfijnd verwerkt en lekker. Tussen deze twee gerechten in werd door het huis ook nog een verfrissende limoensorbet aangeboden. Normaal ben ik hiervan geen liefhebber, maar deze sorbet mogen ze me absoluut nog brengen en dat wil zeker wat zeggen. We hebben dan alles nog afgesloten met een lekkere dame blanche en een latte. Bij de latte kregen we nog een mengeling van boterkoekjes. Prijs - kwaliteit zit het hier meer dan goed.
