La Table du Moulin — Restaurant in Marche-en-Famenne

I normally don't write longer reviews but this restaurant deserves it. We managed to reserve a table on a busy Saturday night. Family of four with two boys 8 and 10. The chef managed to prepare special 3 course children's menu (half price of the normal menu!) which included a cheese croquette for starters, then two big meatballs with sauce Lyonnaise and fries, and dessert from the main menu.The kids loved it! (they're quite big eaters but there was plenty)

The amuse we all got was very nice. A little soup with a piece of paté and some salad. Then the starter was scallops with parsnip puree ...amazing! The other starter was mushrooms on toast with cream sauce ... also fantastic! Main course was slow cooked veal with vegetable mash and very tasty carrots.

I would happily drive here again for just a meal all the way from The Netherlands. Service amazingly friendly and correct, prices very reasonable and quantity wise no complaints at all.

Very nice and cosy place. A real hidden gem! The food and wine are very delicious (I would recommend to take wine pairing: suggested wines suit very good to dishes). The staff is very friendly and ready to help: one of the guests in our group had lactose intolerance and menu was adapted as much as possible maintaining the same level of quality. Le menu du restaurant est vraiment excellent. La nourriture est délicieuse et très fraîche. Cependant, la sélection de vins rouges n’est pas à la hauteur de nos attentes. Nous avons été déçus par le service qui a été assez lent. Nous sommes arrivés à 19h, l’entrée nous a été servie à 20h, mais le plat principal n’est arrivé qu’à 22h10. À 23h, le dessert n’était toujours pas servi, et nous avons remarqué que d’autres tables étaient dans la même situation. Il n’y a qu’un seul serveur pour gérer de nombreux clients, ce qui explique ce délai. C’est vraiment l’aspect le plus décevant de cette expérience : l’attente interminable. À part cela, le restaurant reste une bonne option...
