I thought very well before writing this review because I don't like to be negative - there are plenty of these right? - but for some reason the restaurant didn't live up to my expectations. And just to be clear: Does not match the money you pay. I'm all about paying for good quality food but unfortunately this was not the case at The View. Let's start on a positive note: The staf is very friendly and helpful and the setting is cosy and I can only imagine how nice it must be in summer when you can sit outside on the terrace. So no complaints about that. When I entered I was guided to my table and the staff asked if I wanted something to drink while I waited for my company to arrive., which is very thoughtful. Before even looking at the menu I asked if they can make a bloody mary on which the waiter replied he needed to ask. I was delighted to see him return with drinks but was followed was the first disappointment: I received a wodka, a standard Loza tomato juice, tabasco and celery salt. That is now how you make a bloody mary, then I prefer you come back and say you can't make a bloody mary which is completely fine as it is not on the menu. As a main course I ordered the rib eye which is 46 EUR. Nothing to expensive when done wright but the meat I received didn't live up to the expectations at all. I can recommend you 10 other restaurants where you get a lot more value for money for 46 EUR of Rib Eye. The wine menu was also a dissapointment. OK, I have to admit, I'm a bit of a wine snob but when paying these prices for (what is supposed to be) high quality meat I expect more choices than only 13 choices of red wine by the bottle. The prices of the bottles were also on the expensive side, x3 x3,5 of purchase value for the more expensive bottles, where other restaurants do x2 x2,5 for the more expensive bottles. The wines don't match the food menu at all. Little illustration that says a lot about the knowledge about wine in this restaurant: They have an Amarone della Valpolicella on the wine list which they refer to as Amarone di Valpolicalla. It's all in the details. Overall a disappointment, I will not...
Read moreIt was one of the most beautiful restaurants I have been in. Very class design and the view as you can see the photo, is amazing as well. The food is so good. So fresh and cooked amazing dinner for us. I asked for a special lactosefree dessert, and they really brought me a suflè without any milk products in it. Many thanks for this gentleness 🙏🏻 On the Terrasse, you can sit comfortable and enjoy the beautiful view, but when the degree drops down at the evening, it's a little windy. It's not bad, I just enjoy and love it to be a guest there. I hope to...
Read moreThe food was very good, the prices are on the high side. Service, although friendly, could have been better: we had been shown to our (booked) table and had been seated for over 10 minutes, before they even came to take our drinks order. The views are fantastic, but next time we will refuse to be seated in the (blinding) sunshine: my husband was being cooked alive and there are neither shades, nor curtains on the windows high up...
