Sensory overload: very bright lights, lots of people talking and loud music. It felt like a cafeteria, which is not exactly our style. Menu overload: with about 150 items on the menu it is hard to choose for the customer, and it also makes it impossible for the kitchen to be good at all these things. Culinary underload: The starters were ok. Wine was good, but the waiter took my husband’s glass of champagne away before he had finished with it, when he wanted to open the wine. We had both ordered steaks “à point” (medium). My husband got a perfectly cooked steak, but mine was overcooked. We told the waiter but he did not think it was his responsibility as it was the kitchen’s. I could get a new one, but that would mean one could eat, the other wait, and then the other way around. It is not how we had envisaged our dinner here! (Friends had recommended this place). So I ate half of my steak; it was edible but not what I had looked forward to. The potate croquettes were bland and the salad was the same as we had had with the starters and contained lots of extremely salty dried tomatoes. Then someone else came and started a debate about “à point” meaning something else in Belgium. Next to that being untrue, we had ordered the same steak in the same cuisson at the same time, so why was there such a big difference? He apologized and offered dessert but we were too disappointed.
We may stay in the hotel again, as it is quite comfortable, but for food we will...
Read moreOk after the renovation and becoming a hotel they became the most expensive restaurant in the area. But it is worth it. Food and service never disappoint and it is often full which is a good sign. The plates while creative remain enough in terms of quantity. Next to the usual dishes on their fix menu they have regularly updated suggestions that are nice discoveries. As a non hotel guest you can also come to breakfast which I do now and than in the WE as I do live close-by. It is a bit far from the Namur city center so more a hotel or restaurant to come by car. Surprisingly cozy and agreeable despite along a busy road and industrial zone. But not far just across the main road you have nice landscapes, forests and beautiful historical villages with cool hiking paths...
Read moreGreat place, great service, great food the only reason it’s not a 5/5 is that I find it a bit pricey despite the quality! We had the shared boards with the cava of the house as starters then I had the Argentinian steak and colonel as desert (lime sorbet in Vodka) and the standards were very decent however, the price was a bit high in my opinion. 24€ for a board with a few cold cuts and fried things with a side of salad, 34€ for a steak and fries and 12€ for one scoop of sorbet in a shot of vodka… yeah, you get the picture! All in all, I found it great and would come again as everything we had was good but a bit steep...
