La Ferme des Sanglochons — Restaurant in Neufchâteau

The food here is delicious! This is my second time here but this time with my kids and was very attentive to them... Our only problem was we asked for their dish to be split in half so they could share as there wasn't much they liked eating, they shared a ham and cheese toastie (half a toastie each) with some side carrots which is fine but when we got the bill they were charged separately! If it wasn't for this I would have given them 5 stars as the food, service and atmosphere here is...

Very good local food! Homemade and well balanced at a reasonable price. The restaurant is located in an old house with a lot of local tools and the ambiance is bringing you back one century. There is one room to welcome around 20 people but the restaurant is limited to 20 places . There is a cafe linked to the restaurant if you want to enjoy local beer and small food. Excellent place to pass by even when you come back from holidays on your way...

Dieses nette kleine Restaurant hatten wir schon vor ein paar Tagen zufällig entdeckt, aber leider an einem Dienstag, dem wöchentlichen Ruhetag. Glücklicherweise ergab es sich, dass wir auf der Rückreise auch wieder zur Mittagszeit dort vorbei kamen und die deftigen, aber leckeren Speisen von Schwein und Ente genießen konnten. Lustig: Google bezeichnet es als "Fachgeschäft für Schinken". Nun ja, man kann hier auch Schinken (und einige andere Dinge) kaufen und mitnehmen, wichtiger für uns war aber, dass es sich um ein nettes Restaurant mit guter Kost handelt. Es wird nicht nur Schinken, sondern auch viele andere gute Sachen angeboten. Außer besagtem Schinken hatten wir auch 'Le cassoulet de canard de Philippe Devos' (Eintopf von weißen Bohnen mit einem Entenschenkel) und als Vorspeise 'L'assiette a picorer du jour: boudin noir de canard, pâté de canard au foie gras, fromage frais à l'aul des ours, toast ' sehr genossen. Der Schinken und andere Fleischwaren stammen aus eigener Produktion, die auch in einem kleinen Museum besichtigt werden kann. Außerdem werden lokale Produkte verkauft. Das Wort "Sanglochon" im Namen leitet sich übrigens von sanglier (Wildschwein) und cochon (Ferkel) ab und bezeichnet scherzhaft manches Ergebnis, nachdem die Bauern in der Vergangenheit die Schweine in den Wald zur Futtersuche brachten und dieses dann auf ihre wilden...
