SENSI - Summer bar, 'FIRE' Restaurant and Glamping — Restaurant in Oostkamp

My girlfriend and I ate dinner here for my birthday since we were camping at Boomkamp nearby. Looking at the menu in advance we were set on getting their steak for two because it sounded amazing and seemed like their specialty. The fire kitchen is quite impressive! Once there we were curious about their 3 course menu and asked Tursten about it and the way he described the three courses we noticed the way he described it with so much passion that we could not refuse the menu. This continued throughout every interaction with both people that served us, they were such nice people who really make you feel welcome and we could tell they enjoy doing what they do which makes the whole experience that much nicer than it already was. After reading the online menu, I was excited to try out the restaurant's unique concept last weekend. Unfortunately, after arriving in time for our reservation, we quickly realized it wasn't at all going to be what the website had suggested. Quite the contrary: there were no appetizers or deserts, but only a handful main courses to choose from. Nothing was cooked on the outside fire, and, even though the taste was good, the portions were quite small for what we paid. It would've been fine, if the expectations hadn't been set so high. Op basis van alle positieve reviews had ik besloten hier een overnachting in de glamping te boeken. Communicatie op voorhand was er niet echt. We hadden zeker en vast wel een vriendelijke ontvangst. Enkel voor deze prijs verwacht je toch wel echt een heel stuk meer... De tent was ruim, 2 stopcontacten en lampje aanwezig. Er waren 2 aparte luchtmatrassen ( 1 werkte bij ons niet meer en was tegen de ochtend volledig leeggelopen ), extra lakens en kussens waren er ook. Ik zou wel aanraden iets tegen de muggen mee te nemen. 'S nachts zal je het met een dixi in het bos moeten doen. "Luxe sanitair" zoals werd beschreven is een vuil toilet in het gebouw waar het vol zat met vliegen en een stopcontact dat nog niet werkte. Het uitgebreid ontbijt was ook best teleurstellend. Opnieuw zeer vriendelijk onthaald maar het brood was hard, aanbod charcuterie of kaas was bitter weinig, mini boterkoeken waren er al zeker niet genoeg. We hebben zeker een fijn weekend gehad en het was eens een ervaring. Alleen voor dit geld zou ik het niemand aanraden of nog eens terugkeren.
