Il Daino — Restaurant in Oud-Heverlee

We had a very bad experience today with the person taking our orders (middle aged waitress). We ordered drinks, starters and main course. In each there was a mistake in the order taken. Instead of Fanta lemon we were served Fanta orange which was not a big deal for us. We waited 45 mins for our starter to arrive but it never came while take-away orders were flying out the kitchen. Upon asking, we learnt that the order never reached the kitchen in the first place. Note that we were seated at the restaurant at 6pm when there was no crowd at all.Ten minutes after reminding we got our starter, instead of bruschetta bufala we got bruschetta classico. When we pointed it out, she put the blame on us in a rude way. Then our main dishes came, one of it was wrong again! Instead of penne pesto, she brought penne vegetariana. This time when we pointed it out, she flipped out on us big time and put the blame squarely on us once again!! We felt so insulted that we decided to leave immediately. The only saving grace is the main chef himself, who not only cooks well but dealt calmly with the situation. We still write this review here because neither was she reprimanded nor did we...

It's ok. There really isn't any decent competition in the area so this is a facctor, I think, in why they are as popular as they are and why they don't ever seem to aspire to improve. Inside tip: if you want a take away pizza with an egg that isn't raw when you get home you have to be very specific in asking for this. The chef is convinced, and will try to convince you, that the ambient heat of the pizza can cook a raw egg during the journey home... so often it's raw egg (so you have to grill the pizza yourself at home) or a discussion, a grumpy chef, and an over cooked egg on a pizza with...

We wanted to dine in and we made a reservation, but when we got there there was NO TABLE. Angry lady comes to asks us if we had reservation, then said to wait. Then someone else came to ask if we had a reservation and again asked to wait "here" where there was no place to wait. We were waiting for 15 minutes holding our child and everyone passed in front of us without any solution or explanation on what would happen next....
