After an enriching brewery tour, we stopped by Bar Bernard's rooftop for a refreshing drink and a light snack. With picturesque views and a pleasant breeze, it was the perfect spot to reflect on our brewery tour experience.

Undoubtedly, the highlight of our visit was the exceptional quality of the beers. We couldn't resist indulging in the St. Bernardus pate and rillette, which paired beautifully with our beers. So much so, we couldn't leave without purchasing some to savor back home in the US.

Our dining experience inside the restaurant was equally memorable. The "vispannetje" and "lams"tong were standout dishes. And the Abt 12 ice cream was to die for! The service was prompt and courteous, adding to the overall enjoyment of our evening.

In conclusion, Bar Bernard exceeded our expectations in both its offerings and service. Whether it's a casual rooftop visit or a more formal dining experience, it's a must-visit...

Chic and modern restaurant bar. The food here is very good, we had the Stoofvees or beef stew, and the meat melts in your mouth. The fries were freshly made and crispy.

For the beers, we had the oaked Abt 12 and it was phenomenal. It was akin to drinking wine even. You should try at least the regular Abt 12. St Bernardus was the formal contract brewer for St Sixtus and the Westvleteren 12 beer. There is certainly some resemblence between the 2 beers.

Ambience-wise, the restaurant is the highest building in the area, and offers a very good view of the surrounds, including the brewery's own hop fields. I can imagine it will be very beautiful during sunset.

Service is fast and attentive. Staff speaks some english.

Would definately...

The atmosphere was comfortable. The food was flavorful. The Abt+ was one of the best dark beers I’ve ever had; and I’ve had my share. The wait time was normal. The waiter was pleasant and attentive, and the view was relaxing. The only issue I had with my overall experience at Sint Bernardus was the crying, and at times screaming, of one child while their parents did little to comfort and quiet the child. This went on for my entire meal, 40 minutes. I was about 8 meters from the couple. Looking around at the other customers, no one seemed to be bothered by the child under duress. This was around 19:00 on a...

Bar Bernard is a must visit. It is a 360° rooftop bar and gives a astonishing view all around, even if you are inside or outside. Belgium holds a amazing amount of beers, and offcourse it makes sense Bar Bernard serves only their beer and cheese. Combined with the opportunity to have a lunch or dinner, the legendary beers are used for foodpairing. Bar Bernard truly serves you a one of a kind experience. Originally it was a cheese factory dating back to 1900-1930, and over the years monks started to brew beer. It really got back on track in 1998 when it got a reboot by Hans Depypere. The complete restyle was done in 2018.
