We only go there for drinks and play an old game (can't remember the name), thats hidden in the back of the cafe. It's such a nice suprise like you walk trough the cafe and suddenly there is this big "bowling area". Was pleasantly surprised and you didn't have to go inside to go to the restroom, which is a good point while playing. It's similar to bowling but still different. (See pictures, can't describe it well). The staff is usually nice but there is this one guy that is just terrible. Very unfriendly and unwelcoming. Really gave us the vibe "who do you guys think you are", that's not how you treat your costumers. That's why I'm only giving 4 stars.

Friendly staff, very welcoming, and lovely small goen to explore. Food was great, a variety on offer, and fantastic beer which is made locally.

It was a bonus to be given a twin room when I had booked a single. My room no.1.4 had a good size ensuite, but it only had a small hand basin. However, the shower was a good size. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided, but only cream pots, which are OK for coffee, but not white tea, The TV in my room had English channels like BBC 1. ||||A do it yourself buffet style breakfast was included in my good value room price. The mostly cold buffet had a great range of quality food, some suitable for vegetarians, although not vegans, but maybe this is available upon request. You can even cook your own eggs (boil or fry them) and make your own fresh toast. ||||My friends and I ate in the hotel restaurant on the evening of our stay and our meals were excellent and good value. I had a delicious beef stew for 22 euros and my friends a very large steak for 24 euros.||||The hotel is in the nice small town of Watou, which has plenty of good walks on its doorstep and the larger town of Popperinge is a short distance away. Free parking is available across the road in the town square. ||||The hosts understanding of English is good and you will receive a nice friendly welcome. ||||I would...

Stayed Het Wethuys 17&19 Sep 2022 whilst touring the WW1 battle fields. We received such a warm welcome from Barbara (who speak excellent English) at this lovely little family run hotel. The hotel is located right in the middle of Watou, very close to beautiful country scenery remote from the large towns but not too far if you wanted to take a drive. There is free parking opposite the hotel in the small cobbled market square. If you are there for B&B, there is a do it yourself buffet style breakfast that was more than adequate and excellent starter for the day. Continental breakfast, a great range of fresh bread rolls pastries, selection of meats and cheese, preserves, eggs (cook your own eggs (boil or fry), toast, yogurts, tea, coffee and orange juice. We ate in the hotel restaurant on the evening of our stay and our meals were excellent and good value. We had a really enjoyable stay and hope to go back in the near future, would definitely...
