Le Joncquois — Restaurant in Soignies

I went there to enjoy a nice meal and I'm really disappointed.

That's even more sad as the place is nice and you've got plenty space around your table inside as outside.

The main issue is the delay to get you something served. We've been there almost 3 hours for 2 starters, 2 meals and 2 cocktails. For almost 120€ for 2! We didn't bother taking a dessert as this would have probably added 1 additional waiting hour, 30-40 euros for something that has just been defrosted.

Speaking of defrosting, our starters were not hot and even worst were still frozen on the inside! For something that cost 19€!!

The meal was delivery after a long time and as the rest, not terrible at all. No taste, the salad was the bare minimum, etc. For my meal I chosen the gratin and guest what ... cold in the inside. But the dish was hot. Aren't you microwaving the meal by any chance... And finally I received it back properly heated but when I had finished my meal. Anyway I was like I'm still gonna eat it as I like gratin. Very bad idea. The taste was simply "burned" and nothing else.

On the table you didn't even had any salt, pepper or related things you'd find in a restaurant with standard criteria. Not asked by the waiter if we'd like something else like salt or pepper, additional sauce, etc.

We probably heard from the waiters that the thing the customer asked will arrive soon. But it was never the case. Always something missing, not properly cooked, etc. And don't bother asking for an additional drink as you'll receive it late.

Around us, of the four tables, 3 of them were clearly unhappy of the things mentioned above (delay, food quality, staff efficiency, etc).

I can only recommend people to avoid this restaurant and it's very sad as the place is lovely, the owner (women) was very friendly (even if I found review saying the opposite). They have a lot of potential but seems to be preferring wasting it by cutting cost on each corner to maximize the profit. At the expense of the food quality and...

Extremely worst experience I’ve ever had in my life in a restaurant. We are not in a fine-dining restaurant and we left an hour for the lunch here. We ordered some drinks and two main dishes (a beef skewer and a fish). After an hour, we asked if they can serve soon because we need to leave soon. However, the staff only kept repeating they are preparing it, and after another half hour, we decided to leave with a takeaway. The staff said they gave us a discount because of the delay, but the reality is because they only packed one dish for us. The other dish was not even ready when we left after one and half hour. The other tables all have their main dish ready, and ours not. I would not recommend this restaurant to...

First stumbled across this beautiful restaurant in March during a road trip to Zurich. The staff was very accommodating and friendly, the food was amazing and the atmosphere was on point.

We decided that on our next road trip (June) this venue would be our first stop, enroute to Brussels. Safe to say, it did not disappoint again! Amazing food and atmosphere, friendly attentive staff.

Looking forward to returning again...
