Acqua Rossa — Restaurant in Stavelot

We chose this hotel due to the location as we were attending a race meeting and this appeared to tick all the boxes, well on paper it did!||Our papers said the room would be ready at 17:30, a little late we thought, but as we would be at the track during the day we thought OK!. We arrived at 17:25 expecting to be allowed in, but no, the place was locked up!! Finally at 17:45 a lady opened the restaurant door and looked at us with a quizzical look, we explained who we were and she let us in, she gave us a key from behind the bar and informed us that the entrance to our room was via a door in the small road at the side of the restaurant. And from now on we could come & go at any time.||The room looked nice but we pointed out to her that there were 2 single beds and we had booked a double! She said they didn't have double beds in any of the rooms!! But thats NOT what they advertise!! ||The bathroom looked OK, 2 small bottles of shampoo and shower gel and nice towels, changed everyday.||The big issue was the flooring in the bathroom, it 'squelched' with every step!! There were obvious damp patches coming thru the Lino too!! Now i'm not an expert on insects and their environment BUT the fact that both my partner and I got bitten by mosquito's over night in that room (and yes we could hear them all night) made me think those Mosie's liked our damp warm bathroom! The door wouldn't close properly due to the floor being warped too.||||We chose continental b'fast on 2 mornings, it was good, croissants, pain au chocolate, bread rolls and a slice of ham & cheese each and I got half a cup of tea?! All at 10 euro's each.||||We ate at the restaurant twice, the 1st time was good and the pizza also. The 2nd time was very busy and they didn't appear to say no to anyone! Hence the service was dreadful! We waited 20 mins for our order to be taken, then after a further 45 mins we asked where our food was, as we had told them we had to be back at the track that evening. The waitress suggested we had another drink whilst we waited, we asked if this would be 'gratis' but she said NO! We ordered them anyway.||We weren't the only people complaining and there were others who were getting up to go and find out where the waitress was with their food! || Another 20 mins later the food arrived and it was 'OK'. We paid and said we wouldn't be tipping them. OH! AND THE DRINKS NEVER ARRIVED!!||||Needless to say we won't be staying...

Good value stay, a couple of things are a bit out of place or broken. It's not posh. Staff is super friendly and helpful and the food is great.

The wifi is very location depending. Some corners of the room have no signal, others are quite alright. Can be ticky to find where it works.

The room is visually pleasing and has everything one needs, it was quite hot for some reason. The water pressure is alright​ and it can get hot if you turn it up.

The last picture is the view from this room. Bring earplugs! There are beefy cars going past every now and then and you can hear people from the restaurant...

I turned up at the check-in time of 17:30 and was met by a sullen waitress after banging on the door. I asked if breakfast was included, no it wasn't and as it later turned out, there's no breakfast service at all. ||||Shown to the room, above the bar, very noisy. Reasonable quality room and bathroom except no toilet paper to be found. Huge TV, wi-fi not working and nobody to complain to by the time I tried it. Outside of the restaurant hours, the place is deserted.||||I didn't try the restaurant, it was heaving, so went to a place across the road.||||All in all, a dismal stay and I will not...
