The Lakehouse — Restaurant in Stekene

Visited the restaurant on a pleasant Thursday evening, opting to sit outside to enjoy the view over the lake. Unfortunately, the outdoor seating was poorly maintained with unclean tables and debris all around, forcing us to sit inside.

Our meal began with bread and aioli, which was mediocre and overpriced at 7.5€ for a single bun. The charcuterie platter, priced at 24.5€, was mainly salty Serrano ham with a lackluster variety of other meats.

The wine, a 12€ glass of Enate Chardonnay Fermentado, was disappointingly not served directly from the bottle.

For our main dishes, we ordered Tournedos, priced at 42.5€ each. The portions were smaller than expected, and the kitchen had pre-cut the meat to check its tenderness—a practice that did not align with the high price. The presentation was mediocre, and the taste, especially when paired with the untouched tomato mousseline, was a letdown. The Surf and Turf 42.5€ and a basic 25€ burger followed suit in disappointment.

Given the underwhelming quality across the board, we decided against dessert, settled the substantial bill, and departed with no intentions of returning. What should have been a delightful family outing turned into a frustrating experience, ensuring we will...

This used to be the place to be, I had so many great night's here it's such a shame how it changed into something completely different, the night club dj room is closed, you have to pay 5 euro for entry even when the place is empty...the parking costs money even the toilet are you for real? Salitos bucked is more expensive used to be 8 now only 5? Nobody is dancing here anymore you just sit at a table and that's it......

Don't order the nachos. It's a waste of money. Tasteless tomato salsa and some sweet tasting sauce (that doesn't belong there in the first place) that's poored over the sour cream. Even on a Saturday afternoon, when the place is almost abandoned, you have to pay for a parking spot. Furthermore, it's a shame that you have to pay for...
