We booked this place for a quick night over. The rooms are above the restaurant and they are small but tidy, clean & cosy. Don't expect a fancy decorated room, they are down to the basics and come equipped with the basic necessities only (alarm clock, telephone, closet, and safe). Besides a restaurant & bar they also have a sort of chill-out room with a fireplace and some couches. The hotel/restaurant also acts as the main gatehouse for a camping ground behind the building. The best thing about this place is the staff and the food. We were blown away by the meals they serve (!) I had never expected food this good in a roadside hotel like this. The spareribs I had were very tender and marinated just right. As a dessert I got warm cherries with ice cream and I would recommend everybody to sample this. My wife tells me her food was just as good (if not better) and she recommends the apple-pie with ice-cream which is (and I quote) “to die for!” The Dutch couple that runs the place are very friendly (also for the kids) and work hard to make you feel at home, and are very helpful in getting directions or suggestions how to best spend your day in the neighbourhood. The hotel is located opposite of a highway but we didn't notice anything since our rooms sat on the opposite side. A nice feature is the family room, which allows an in-between door to open so that the kids get one room and the parents the other. This setup worked quite well in our case. Breakfast was varied and quite cheap. The hotel is located 20 mins from Coo and Durbuy so it’s quite central to the main attractions in the vicinity. (Drive via the N-roads to see all the scenery) The price quality ratio was good and when we are back in this vicinity we will return for good meal and a night over. I would recommend this especially for families with young kids and people who like the outdoors and people that can live with the basic setup...
Read moreWe stayed here for one night, because our car broke in the neighbourhood. We did not get a replacling vehicle, so we had to stay over. The room was adequate, but old fashioned and tight, the beds are okay. The WiFi is good in the room and in the general facilities. ||The breakfast is good: fresh baked rolls, enough ham, cheese, sweets, orangejuice, youghurts, coffee and tea. ||The service is okay, but the restaurant and general facilities need urgently an update.||Parking space plenty, several type of beers on the tap, and a middle of the road menu.||There is a sunfacing terrace for a god Begian pint. ||Personally I don't like pets in a restaurant: a dog sniffing at my trousers doesnt feel well during...
