Nice place and very good food! We had a good time despite the irascible owner who kept reminding us (in harsh tone) that we were 6 instead of 8 and we didn't call to change the booking. Yes, we should have called. We apologized. We are still sorry, 2 of our group got a bad flu and told us in the afternoon that they preferred staying home. It was a Thursday evening, the restaurant was 2/3 busy, if that. I think just telling us the 1 time would have sufficed. We were there from San Francisco, visiting friends, it was not the most welcoming experience we've had. Fortunately, the staff was otherwise great, food was good, and we were in great company. It was a life saver on a cold Sunday morning on Dec 30. We just spent a morning in the not-so-nearby Abbey d'Orval. We googled and found this restaurant to be like 30 km away. It was a near full house. This was a nice little quiet Belgian village. The staff and place were both warm. The menu was in French, of course. We managed by body language. The food was indeed gourmet by the heart. I forgot what we had but they were excellent (I couldn't reproduce the French menu). The decoration and ambience was...

Le cadre est tout simplement magique : un feu ouvert, une dĂ©coration d’un autre siĂšcle, et une ambiance chaleureuse qui vous enveloppe dĂšs l’entrĂ©e. Le personnel, d’une gentillesse rare, complĂšte parfaitement cette expĂ©rience hors du temps.

Cadre exceptionnel et chargé d'histoire et de découvertes, personnel trÚs serviable et agréable, petite carte à base de chou trÚs bien, mais pas assez de légumes dans la touffaye et petit salé un peu sec. Par contre le cabu au canard excellent. Plat + dessert + apéro + une boisson = 40 euros. Et petit plus, et à faire, la rulles au tisonnier. Français, c'est la troisiÚme fois qu'on vient et nous reviendrons.
