We chanced upon this place when the owner (Jean) of the place we stayed recommended it. He even called to make a reservation for us.
When we arrived, there were ample parking spaces next to the restaurant.
We were pleasantly surprised with the interior of the restaurant, which was cosy and well decorated.
The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. We chose to sit outside and were led to a garden behind the main building. There was also a children’s playground.
We ordered a roast chicken with bread and pork ribs with fries. The owner informed us waiting time will be 40 minutes for the ribs, which are made fresh only when they receive an order. Wow!
It was well worth the wait. Ribs were perfectly done and roasted (1/2) chicken was full of flavour. The thinly sliced toasted grain bread went so well with the chicken. The food also came with a salad, it was yummy.
The portions were large. Prices were so reasonable, we could hardly believe our eyes when we got the bill.
By the way, we knew why Jean had to make a reservation. The crowd started arriving soon...

Zéér teleurstellende ervaring – nooit meer!
Als ik nul sterren kon geven, had ik het gedaan. We hebben hier een drama van een avond beleefd. Drie (!) uur moesten we wachten op ons eten, zonder enige duidelijke uitleg of excuus. Elke keer dat we vroegen hoe lang het nog zou duren, kregen we een onverschillige of zelfs vijandige reactie.
De absolute dieptepunt van de avond? De eigenaar. Nog nooit zo’n arrogante houding meegemaakt in de horeca. In plaats van begrip te tonen voor onze frustratie, lachte hij het gewoon weg. Alsof het normaal is dat je een hele avond zit te verhongeren.
Het eten zelf? Na al die tijd verwacht je op z’n minst iets bijzonders, maar helaas: lauw, smakeloos en absoluut de wachttijd niet waard.
Kortom: vermijd dit restaurant als je een fijne avond wilt. Er zijn genoeg andere plekken waar gastvrijheid wél bestaat en waar je niet als lastpost...
