Sunjammers Bar and Grill — Restaurant in St. David's Island

Went here during a cruise excursion…we decided to be vacation suckers and order 2 hotdogs for $26. We were told it would only take 5 minutes to make which was great because our shuttle was arriving in 20 minutes to take us to our next destination. After 10 minutes we were told 5 more minutes, then I questioned again after a few minutes because I wasn’t seeing any hotdogs cross the grill and was again told, “5 more minutes”. Knowing that our shuttle would soon be there at that point we decided that would be fine because we would just eat it on the shuttle. As our shuttle was loading we asked again only to be told they were just about to start making the hotdogs now. We told them not to worry about it and cancel the order. We then turned back to the bar to get our money from the older, long-haired lady that waited on us. Side note, we were honestly not TOO upset because we knew we’d just eat on the ship at that point. We were more concerned with not missing the shuttle. Welp, the lady was clearly irritated that we were asking for a refund and met us with terrible attitude. She didn’t even turn her body or head in our direction as she shoved our cash back in our faces. When I took it from her, she threw her body my direction as if this was the confrontation she was planning for all day. She then SHOUTED, accusing ME of “being a very rude person” and how dare I “rip the money out of her hands.” (Insert both of us looking back at her like deer caught in headlights😳) She continued by yelling that she, “doesn’t care what happens over there (at the food truck), that is no excuse to be so rude!” 👀Um…WHAT?? lol. We were shocked! I can guarantee we were not at all rude…why would we be? She was giving us our money back and we were not missing our shuttle! I wasn’t even upset or rude to the cook…we even laughed about the fact that we did not consider “island time.” Nope, we weren’t upset until she barked LOUDLY at us and stopped-silent the entire bar full of people! I replied back that she was “the one being rude”…(I know, not the coolest comeback, but it was all I could come up with…like I said, I was shocked). Customer service is definitely not a priority here. The beach areas were nice though, so if you visit the beaches...

Went for the beach and the fish sandwich, got a rude awakening. The waiters at the bar are not friendly, particularly an older-looking woman. I was rushed with my order and a family member was spoken to like street trash when trying to ask a question. People that are in customer service need more etiquette. We understand that people have life issues but if people are coming to your establishment they, at least, deserve a smile. Keep your bad manners at home, otherwise you are in the wrong profession. We need more smiles and happiness in the world. What you project is what you will receive. If you want to have a great time when visiting, bypass this place and try...
