Obelix — Restaurant in Banja Luka

We stopped here in September 2018 during our trip through Balkans. We chose this place (or rather made it one of our planned stops) because of a recommendation in one of the Polish culinary shows. And it was worth it. The meat was great and made a perfect match with the buns. I recommend ordering Cevapi with Ajwar. I admit that the food is generally on the fatty side (although the meat was actual meat) but you don't come to Bosnia and Herzegowina to explore vegan options :D The one thing we didn't like was people smoking in the restaurant and on the small terrace. The staff did put a detachable wall to divide smokers and non-smokers but it was only partially working. I'm not removing a star for the fact because this is how Balkans are in general and such rating would hurt a place...

I rarely write reviews, but my recent experience at this restaurant was deeply disappointing and frustrating. The main issue wasn't the food, but the waiter. He wasn't just unfriendly — he was outright rude and dismissive. There's a big difference between being casual and being disrespectful, and unfortunately, he crossed that line multiple times.

It felt like basic manners and professionalism were too much to expect. He acted as if we were bothering him just by being there. Frankly, he is not suited for this line of work, and his attitude significantly ruined what should have been an enjoyable meal.

Odličan roštilj. If you are looking for a place to enjoy delicious and authentic grilled food, you should visit this grill house. They have a great selection of traditional dishes, such as cevapi, pljeskavica, ražnjići, and more. The meat is fresh and juicy, and the portions are generous. The prices are also very reasonable and fair.

Beer goes well with the grilled food and the bread. The service is fast and friendly, and the atmosphere is warm.
