Motel Kolo — Restaurant in Local community Buna

After a long day of travelling, we arrived to our reservation at "Kolo", however, our room was infested with ants and cockroaches. After visiting the reception and complaining, the staff notified us that they are unable to offer a different accomodation as they were fully booked. The staff expected us to just "let it go" as "that is just nature" however, we pursuaded them to act, and the staff finally obliged. Their solution was to spray our room with poison, and then they expected us to sleep in that poisonous chamber. Keep in mind that this was already 1am, and we had no other option to go anywhere else. Unfortunately, we ended up not sleeping in that room due to obvious health hazards, hence, we only used 2 out of the 3 rooms that we booked. One of our friends actually got sick and threw up during the night, most probably due to inhaling the poisonous fumes. Few of us were forced to pack and go to a different hotel just to get some well needed sleep, which they had to pay fully. I ended up sleeping with my parents in their 2 bed room, and the infested room was left unused. We complained but the staff refused to offer any sort of refund. After leaving a review via Booking, we got in contact with the manager of the motel, and he refused to issue a refund because he was upset about the Booking review, moreso even threatened us. After we mentioned police and inspection services, he got very aggrevated and threatened us even more maliciously, mentioning the ethnic cleansing that took place during the yugoslav war, indicating that he would exterminate us...

We booked online for two nights. The place is well-located at the river. And that’s were the positive aspects end. Waste containers stood just a few metres away from the main entrance, filled to the brim and stinking like hell. We arrived there at check-in time but our rooms weren’t ready, we were told to wait „three minutes“. These turned out to become over half an hour. Unfortunately the rooms (which looked nice) had a really awful smell which came from the carpet (?) and especially from the shower drain. And obviously they where just cleaned superficially. The folded blankets had hairs on the inside, leading to the assumption that they weren’t fresh. The shower had no hot water, only lukewarm and even that just for a short time. At 9.45 pm loud (and I mean LOUD) music started right below the rooms at the bar, which lastet until 12.00 pm (the motel has a self-proclaimed nighttime peace at 11 pm). Breakfast had only a small variety of foods, the waiters were slow and you only get rationalized portions, everything else has to be paid extra. We had to leave the windows open fulltime because of the stench in the rooms and on the second evening I found a huge cockroach on the windowsill of the bathroom - absolutely disgusting. Rooms are new and spacious. Beds are too soft for my back though. The swimming pool and restaurant and river was right outside. Theres a minibar and bbq you can make use of too, but we had no time. |We took a room with a double bed in the living room and a double bed in a separate bedroom (better for my son to take naps during daytime) but the airco in this separate room was broken and staff had different stories to explain why and a fan wasn't offered. Thus, having paid more to a room with separation was useless as we had to keep the door open and long for some coolness from the living room airco.|At the restaurant there are some times located in an island on the river. Looks really cool, but not so much when its night and dark. It wasn't suitable for our big family and i hate to eat in the dark. Food isnt great but ok. Staff dont speak very good English so sometimes they brought too much of one thing and forgot to serve/order other things. |All in all i would return because it was such a beautiful environment and...
