This restaurant is located in the Bupitanga Hotel, but is open to the public, so even if you’re not staying here, I recommend you dine here (it was very good!). “Ibá pitanga” means “soft or thin-skinned fruit” in Tupi-Guarani (the language of the indigenous natives of Brazil). It’s the name of a fruit found in South America known as the Surinam cherry or Brazilian cherry. It’s a fine-dining establishment, and the dishes were all delicious and beautifully presented. We started with 2 appetizers: I had shredded dried beef on puffed yucca with avocado sauce, which looked and tasted delicious.
