Restaurante Lindenhof — Restaurant in Região Geográfica Imediata de Caxias do Sul

I came a couple weeks ago on Friday with a group for their German Night. This place is far from any German reference. I’ve been to Germany before, my husband has German background and worked many years as a chef in a New York German restaurant. I was eager to visit this restaurant as a proud Brazilian to share our German roots in the Serra Gaúcha. What an embarrassing experience this was. The food has NOTHING to do with German cuisine. Not even schnitzel was served, the späetzle was dry and had a weird yellow artificial color to it, their kartoffelpuffer (German potato pancakes) were mostly a batter of flour, gross! There was NO GERMAN BEER at a German night in a German restaurant. The food and desserts in general looked like we’re sitting on their buffet from lunch time. It looked dried out and old. We had a horrible experience. Save yourself the trouble and your money and go elsewhere. Their dance show was ok, but that was it. Not worth the drive to Nova Petrópolis for the evening. You can get authentic German food and beer in Gramado at St Gallen fondue and Canela at Farol Brewery or Alpen Park for the same price or less. Run away from this...

We went there on a Friday night. The restaurant don’t open until 7:30pm at the earliest, but, not all the foods were ready until 8:00pm. We did not know on Friday night there was a show starting around 8:30-9:00pm, and it is the best part about this restaurant. If you like dessert, there are more than enough choices. The BBQ was not great, the two slices I had was very tough to chew. Rest of the food items are many, but quality is average. Sempre via esse restaurante em propagandas pelo Facebook. Nas fotos parecia que a comida era super deliciosa e o local limpinho etc. Ontem decidi ir passear em Nova Petrópolis e escolhi o tão esperado do restaurante para conhecer. Fui a primeira cliente a entrar no local no domingo 11:30 da manhã. Para começar o horror, o lugar fede a desinfetante barato desde a escadaria, e dentro do ambiente aquele cheiro chega a enjoar, deveria ter me retirado já naquele momento pois achei estranho um restaurante com aquele odor forte de desinfetante de banheiro. Pois bem, aí na hora de escolher uma mesa, sendo que tinha o salão inteiro para escolher o pessoal ali do lugar nem sequer deu muita bola para eu e meu marido, deixaram a gente lá andando pelo salão a procura de uma mesa, e queriam largar a gente justamente em uma que batia o sol diretamente. Muito mal recepcionados. Aí fomos para o buffet e aí que vem a maior decepção. Simplesmente todas as comidas eram REQUENTADAS. Tinha cucas velhas, massa velha, molho de estrogonofe era uma água, e o de fricassê de frango era um troço meio que um molho branco e o frango praticamente cru nadando naquilo. Dava nojo só de olhar!!! A única coisa que consegui me servir naquele buffet foi algumas saladas de grãos e polenta frita que era única coisa que não parecia velha. E a carne assada era bem mais ou menos,tinha coxinha da asa que era do dia anterior.. sendo que ainda perguntei pro garçom se era fresco e ele ainda confirmou que sim, quando fui cortar era borrachudo. A carne a maioria muita gordurosa e mal passada, tinha uns pedaços sangrando, não no ponto de mal passado saindo sangue e crua mesmo. As sobremesas era mais ou menos tbm, bem simples. Olha, pelo valor eu não esperava muita coisa não, apenas que a comida fosse fresca. Já estaria ótimo. Uma bela de uma decepção. 2 almoço e 2 latinhas de refrigerante 130 reais. Qualquer pastel num posto de gasolina em beira de estrada...
