South Island Surf Bar — Restaurant in Região Geográfica Imediata de Florianópolis

This bar is in a nice location, close to Armação beach and a river, with nice views of the hills covered in jungle. There is a nice beach vibe, with live music and staff are usually friendly. The fried fish, pastels and fruit juices are really nice, but that's just about it however. This place gets extremely crowded, day and night. You will normally have to wait several minutes just to sit down and that doesn't include if you are with family or friends too. When you do finally find a table and have ordered your food or drinks, get comfortable, because you won't be seeing them for a while. When this place is busy, which it always is, a simple bottle of water can take around twenty minutes to arrive. If you order a pastel or some other meal, expect to wait for up to two hours. I don't recommend ordering chips, as you will be waiting hours and they will come out cold and taste bad. This place have the best vibe in Armação. The attendants are very kind and helpful. The meals are delicious and have a fair price. And the juices. Man, the juices are amazing! All natural! Ask for the waiter/waitress to mix two fruits on them. They will give you suggestions but you can mix them as you wish. We chose a mix of pineapple and strawberry with mint and ginger and mango with passion fruit. They were REALLY good. They don't even need sugar at all!

The people who was visiting the place while we were there were calm and respectful. Most of them surfers. The ambient music was soft, enjoyable and in with a confortable volume.

The place has tables in open spots. Choose them if you can. Not that inside is not beautiful, but the outside ones offer a better view and some of them are so close to the water that you almost feel it.

Really disappointing visit. Food arrived before drinks. Waited for over 45 minutes for 3 caipirinhas which tasted like they had no cachaça in them at all, just sugary juice.
