Always a favourite place for Malaysian cuisine though they offer a wider variety of cuisines (Japanese, Taiwanese, Indonesian, etc). Orders are written down in your own seating and brought to the counter along with payment.
My recommendation: AYAM PENYET. Super crispy chicken though lack consistency as sometimes it's juicy and other times dry. Sambal has changed in taste from the last time I've been here which isn't negative as it's still tasty (you can opt for spicy or non spicy sambal). Rice has changed from plain rice to rice fried in oil which is a little more fragrant and fatty.
PENANG CHAR KUEY TEOW. Noodles were QQ and had the char taste. However, it lacked the flavour from my last visit but still one of the top halal kuey teow in town.
Honestly, I'd recommend ordering anything in the menu especially the desserts or special drinks. Everything's very well priced at their quality. Read morePLEASE BEWARE when ordering the Kway Teow Penang. It is no longer what they used to make. It only comes with three pieces of prawn and that's it, and very similar to if you order kway teow kosong for a lesser price. When I asked if it is indeed Kway Teow Penang the manager had the audacity to smile and with no apologies say yes it indeed is and only with 3 prawns and NO LONGER MADE LIKE HOW IT USED TO BE(last time i remember there's clam/cockles and a lot more other stuff..even the sayur is almost non-existence) so I asked if why should they just take it off the menu and rather name the dish Kway Teow with Prawn (but only 3 pcs of prawn). So unethical! I wonder what other menu items have they 'reduced' the ingredients and no longer as advertised...

The menu has a wide variety of options. The fried salted egg mushroom is a standout dish—crispy and flavorful. There are also many fritters to choose from, making it an ideal spot for an afternoon snack. The kway teow is tasty, and the Portuguese tarts are a must-try for dessert lovers.
Overall, it’s a great place to relax, enjoy good food, and unwind. Whether you're looking for a full meal or just some light bites, My Town has something...
