The area is quite nice - views of the village is spectacular. And it's quite a decent place to eat if you just want a breath of fresh air. However, the service there is extremely slow. I'm not sure what made the wait for my food quite long, but I was quite disappointed with the time management, considering that I've ordered the simplest of food for the menu and at the time I was there, there weren't many people around (only 4 tables were occupied, including ours, and two of the tables were still waiting for their food to arrive). I'd give it a plus for the fair pricing of food and the view but that's about it. And it's great that they accept online payments. But I really wish that they could improve on their service. I've heard good things about this place and it really is a disappointment for a first time experience in a place that everyone keeps talking about. Good food, nevertheless.

As the name suggests, try the soto here! Either you're a tourist or a Bruneian, this is a place you have to try at least once! Soto is a beef noodle soup and here, the broth is thick, beefy and full of flavour. You can choose white or yellow noodles or both. I also recommend trying the fried chicken which is served with sambal. It's super crispy and juicy. Or you could try the nasi lemak with fried chicken. The nasi (rice) is very fragrant and rich (with coconut milk). However, anything from the menu would be decent too with several selections of local cuisines. When in doubt, ask the waiter or waitress! The view here is spectacular, facing the water village. There is an outdoor or indoor seating. Parking might be a little challenging due to the small space as it can get crowded. Service was quick and staffs were really friendly and helpful.

We came here for dinner and ordered the Soto Special—and it was excellent. The broth was rich, aromatic, and full of comforting spice, easily one of the best soto soups we've had in Brunei. The kangkong and kubis (cabbage) sides were perfectly cooked—simple but full of flavor. The riverside location adds a unique charm to the meal—dining outdoors with a view of the water is something quite special in Bandar Seri Begawan. That said, the place is a bit out of the way and can be tricky to find without local guidance. On the downside, the udang galah (giant freshwater prawn) lacked freshness, which was a bit disappointing given its potential. The toilet facilities could also use serious improvement. Still, for the soto alone, it's worth the visit—especially if you're looking for something different and authentically local.

We are travel agency company, always bring our customer to visit Brunei. We booked catering for a group lunch for 56 people, but unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. Despite confirming the number of guests in advance, the food provided was not enough—several of our clients were left without anything to eat.

This was not only embarrassing for us as hosts but also unacceptable given that everything was arranged ahead of time. We expected reliability and proper planning from a catering service, especially when handling corporate clients.

We hope the company takes this feedback seriously and improves their planning and portioning to avoid this kind of issue in the future.

Given this experience, we no longer feel confident in bringing our clients to this restaurant in the future. Reliable service and sufficient food are essential, especially in a professional setting, and unfortunately, this...

My recent visit to the Soto Pabo restaurant left me with mixed feelings. The beef soto had its shortcomings; there were only a few beef slices, and the soup, while decent, leaned towards the salty side. Additionally, the price didn't seem justified as it lacked the expected egg and offered just plain noodles with minimal beef.

The atmosphere was somewhat chaotic, with some of the staff not being very welcoming, possibly due to the crowded conditions. On the positive side, they did manage to clear a long table and make it available for two people, which was considerate.

Service was quick, which was expected for such a simple dish. However, the cashier didn't leave a friendly impression.

In conclusion, the Soto Pabo restaurant provides an average soto experience, but the pricing and the unfriendliness of some staff members could be off-putting for customers seeking a more satisfying...
