The place is neatly decorated. Servers are making obvious efforts to be good and should be commanded for that. But Garenne is outrageously expensive for what you get as far as food flavour and quantity are concerned. In addition to the unreasonable price, there are too many restrictions that don't go well with the kind of food they are offering. No attieke, no wine, no beer and that after having to go through a tedious application process to book a reservation. Great place to hang with your friends if you ever visit Abidjan. We ordered for a platter of shrimps with potato fries + jars of juice. Il y a 5 ans, on m’a dit : “Viens, je t’emmène au Garennes ! Meilleures grillades de la ville.” Spoiler alert : on m’avait sous-vendu l’affaire… dinguerie ! 🤯

Alors pour commencer… ton plat arrive chaud. À Abidjan, c’est aussi rare qu’un livreur qui ralentit à un feu rouge. 🚦🔥

Les frites maison ? On en parle ou pas ? Rien à voir avec du surgelé, juste un goût qui te fait oublier que tu comptais partager. La viande ? Ici, c’est du sérieux : cuisson maîtrisée, viande de qualité, un goût qui impose le respect. Les langoustes ? Fondantes à souhait.Et la sauce verte… je pourrais écrire un chapitre entier dessus.

Cinq ans plus tard, Le Garennes n’est pas juste devenu l’un de mes restos préférés : il a été mon premier choix pour le service traiteur de mon mariage, dont le guide est devenu mon mari. ❤️
