W Lounge Abidjan — Restaurant in Cocody

The pro is that the ambiance is fantastic. Definitely a wonderful atmosphere and set up. What brings the place down at least in my experience was 1) The credit card machine was not working, 2) They seemed to not want to use the Wave App for payment. I had paid others in Cote D'Ivoire with Wave with no problems. The W seemed to have some difficulty with the Wave process. I am not sure why. Luckily I had cash on me to handle it but when you promote yourself as a high end lounge all payment processes have to work. I am someone with African travel experience so I know what I am talking about. They must make sure all payment processes work.

On the other hand kudos to the cook who went out of her way to make sure something was prepared well for us in spite of being told that many things on the menu was not available. In addition, the bartender did add extra shots when we indicated that the cocktails were too sugary and lacking alcohol.

Overall, a good place BUT in the international marketplace (We came for AFCON) you cannot have a high end place that operates in a local way. You may...

Came here on a Sunday night and they had a live band playing rumba music. The lounge is spacious, cozy and nicely decorated. My friends ordered a bottle of whiskey with coke and I had a cocktail--sex on the beach. My cocktail was sweet; I didn't taste the alcohol. It was served in a big glass for 10,000 fcfa.
