This place looks charming and we were excited to eat there based on the reviews, but opted out after a terrible encounter with this restaurant's rude manager. We attempted to order two medium-sized pizzas to share among 4 guests, as we wanted a light snack rather than a large meal. The manager explained he made the rules about how much we MUST eat and we had to order large pizzas or should leave. He informed us, in as condesening of a tone as possible, that this is how all restaurants in the world work and we should take the pizza home if we couldn't eat it all. Being tourists in a hotel, how would we return to our hotel with outside food and no place to reheat or eat it? We were the only patrons in the entire restaurant. On principle, we left. We felt truly sorry for the waiter who has to put up with this man as his boss on a daily basis; he looked scared and intimidated. I've tried to write this account as factually and accurately as possible so as to let others make a choice to eat here or not. It is the manager that will tell you how much you MUST order/eat rather than you, the patron. If you want a small meal to share, or you want to avoid an unpleasant encounter, look elsewhere. Our group was more than happy to find a more welcoming spot for lunch. I hope the manager understands his attitude is not helping...
Read moreDo not recommend. The owner is incredibly rude, and had ridiculous "rules." I went to eat with 3 friends, and we were told that we had to order at least 2 large pizzas (we wanted to share 2 medium pizzas and cocktails). That would have been 16 slices of pizza for 4 petite women - plenty of food. We left and did not eat.
The owner told us that "no where else in the world are you allowed to share food if you order one plate (pizza)."
😑 between the 4 of us, we have been to restaurants in at least 20 countries and none of us has ever had this type of encounter. He was quite rude about the whole experience, telling us how much he thought we would eat.
For the record, we were polite the entire time and were the only people in the restaurant. I'd like to take this opportunity to say to the owner: "Shove off, and treat your employees and...
Read moreVery good restaurant on a main corner of quarter france Bassam. Have passed by many times but was unaware of how good the food and service and restaurant is. Flavor of food was divine and the restaurant very clean. I loved the older classic design but I would suggest perhaps to catch the eye of newer and younger clients perhaps add maybe new lighting and a few modern themes to attract more customers. It kind of blends in too well and you may not notice how great of a restaurant it is as a whole if you are just passing by. Top notch service but perhaps a little makeover and renovation will make this hidden jewel...
