Azalaï Hotel Abidjan — Restaurant in Marcory

When I booked this hotel, I had a lot of great expectations that I would get some rest before my long trip home...sadly, within 12 hours of my stay things went from bad to worse!||||Check in was ok, and granted I forgot to pre book with breakfast included (15,000cfa), my mistake and I own it, the reception was not wonderful. ||||My first room at first looked like a fine room, nice view and welcome fruit on a table. The night was comfortable and I did have my best sleep in almost two weeks. Then came morning and everything crashed. I went for my morning business and walked through a puddle in my washroom. Not thinking much of it, I did my thing and prepared for a shower. The shower was great once I figured it out, but then a burst of water outside the shower from an overhead light! ||||After calling reception, they did manage to change my room...but not for the better. My new room has a very strong smell of mold (allergic) and when I mentioned it, they sent someone to spray. They sprayed, but only the entranceway and this did not remove the smell of mold. I complained again and this time the solution provided was to open the window! So, window open and now all the street noise on top of the smell of mold...so much for rest before travel. I complained again, no solution.||||There are other better options I...

I stayed here for 16 nights, only ate supper here on the first night and it was not good, I took the fillet beef with fries, price was 16000cfa and I did not even finish the meat, it tasted like the cow was taken out of some gutter it had been in for weeks, and I asked for medium rare but got well done steak, the menu says it comes with pepper sauce, well it does not, comes with some creamy sauce and chillies, when I asked about the pepper sauce they said it was pepper on the steak. My room was cleaned daily as normal but some days I would not get a fresh towel, they would take the old one and never give me a fresh one... The same for the shampoo and soap it was a hit and miss to get it. There was no wifi the first 4 or 5 days of my stay due to some fault. Very much cheaper to walk over the road and buy burger King and water or cold drink from the hypermart. Update 23 jan 2024, The menu is still a very basic menu not a lot of options to choose from, also upon checking I had no toilet paper in my room, one would think that a fourstar hotel does check that before someone checks in, I called room service and reception with no answer, I ended up walking in the corridors to find the cleaning lady and asked her for toilet paper. This is the worst Hotel I have encountered in my entire life. Where do i even start, from the front desk to the rooms, nothing speaks of class or hotel service. ||The front desk are not polite very rude and do not have an atom of customer service in them, please stay in the hotel at your own perils.||The hotel claims to be a 4 star hotel but in my opinion it is worse it is a disgrace to what 4 star stands for, how can a hotel refuse to change your bed linen but changes it every 2 days, this already tells you that the staff are lazy and speaks poorly of hygiene. Even a 1 star hotel changes the bed linen daily and offers you a new towel.||Restaurant is poorly run, the chef thinks he is a master chef, please re train your staff, Breakfast options are so poor you will want to vomit, the food all have no taste, use ingredients like ginger and garlic in your food for taste. A four star hotel that does not even have waffles, scrambled eggs, or sausages and bacon, and no working coffee machine, is a disgrace to a 4 star brand. ||Please avoid this hotel it will suck the life out of you, and you will see the literal definition of...
