Atmosphere and service- good Food- maybe it’s bad luck not knowing french, We just swing it and ordered from specials on the chalk board, surprise- I got 4 pieces of Breakfast toasts and 2 pieces of marinated salmon for dinner, this “dish” is 20,000 local currency, USD 36. This is picnic food okay!!I marinated salmon could be bought from supermarket easily. I would never expect to have this as dinner at a proper french restaurant and paid this much!! My friend ordered seafood risotto she wasn’t impressed either. She also hated the apple juice she ordered- it was 90% ice in it, too much sugar added.
Overall, it’s a very pricy place with nothing impressive. We hope the food should at least be tasty. we will not come back. Please avoid this salmon (Saumon)...
I am currently in Abidjan and my friend made me discover Richard's last night. Accustomed to Parisian starred restaurants and high gastronomy , I was not impressed by the setting, nor by the "gastronomy" of this restaurant. The dishes were just okay, too copious for my taste, without any particular research. That being said, I really appreciated the wine cellar. Although it is mainly composed of wines from Burgundy, Bordeaux, vallée du Rhône and Champagne, there is a refined and judicious choice. For me this is the strong point. I also had a look at the spirits of the Bar and I was pleasantly surprised to see a nice selection of Japanese whiskies such as Hibiki, Yamazaki or the much appreciated Nikka from the Barrel. We had a very good evening with a good service. Thanks to the chef and the bar manager for the free tasting of The Macallan 15 year old Scotch... I would have liked to taste the Rare...
Read moreI was in dire need of a proper steak and Chez Richard hit it right out of the park.
We started with the gambas salad, which was so fresh and delicious, that I blanked out and forgot to take a photo. It might have in part due to the wine and champagne pairings as well.
Richard came by and gave us a very warm welcome and our server Germain provided outstanding service.
Our lunch was capped off with quality espresso and a cigar selected from their in-house humidor.
If you're looking for a guaranteed great time in Marcory, I suggest you reserve...
