Le Débarcadère — Restaurant in Treichville

If you’re visiting Abidjan, Le Débarcadère is a spot worth checking out. It’s an open-air restaurant right on the riverbank, offering beautiful views and a relaxed atmosphere. The setting is peaceful yet lively, especially with the live jazz band adding great vibes throughout the evening.

I ordered the entrecôte (rib-eye steak), which came flame-grilled with salt and pepper, plus a mushroom sauce on the side. The steak itself wasn’t my favorite, but honestly, the scenery and ambiance make up for it.

Food was very fresh, I had the half grilled chicken which was standard for Abidjan nothing special. These dishes are accompanied with a small salad, a tomato and chilli dipping sauce. The Grilled courgette and tomato with garlic butter was OUTSTANDING, which happens to be the highlight food wise on this trip to the Ivory Coast. My colleague had snails which were huge and well presented, I cannot comment on the taste as it is not something I can bring myself to try, however his plate was fi ished and judging by his comments were well enjoyed. Very nice setting and well situated near the 'lagunes' with a nice view at night on the plateau and a nice refreshing breeze . They also do live music. The place is well designed, lots of greens and private hidden spots for couples. You can go either in the open air or get undercover in case of rain. Prices are above average. I feel it's not worth it. Was quite deceived by the food. Grilled chicken lack seasoning. Seems precooked and dry. Kedjenou was not well made.
