Jungles Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Alberta

The atmosphere was decent as there was an outside band playing, and my friends and I stopped by for a bite to eat. Unfortunately, the service was extremely disappointing. In the 45 minutes we were there, our server only came by once I had to grab my table more water at the bar. Although we saw three different staff members walking around checking on other guests, not a single one approached our table to see if we needed anything—even as our water glasses sat empty.

To make things worse, guests who arrived after us received their food before we did. And when our food finally came out, it was cold.

What really bothered us is the feeling that we were treated differently. Our group was made up of people of different backgrounds—Black, white, and Métis—and we couldn’t help but notice that the level of service we received didn’t match what others around us were getting. It was disheartening and frankly unacceptable.

I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. If this is the kind of service they stand by, it says a lot—none of it good.

My father in law wanted to bring us to this restaurant because he said they had fast service and great Caesar’s last year so we went and I’m not sure what changed from last year but our server couldn’t bring us waters on a hot day even though we asked 4 times. Finally we got brought our Caesars but only one had alcohol and one had tomato juice not Clamato, so we just said we’re okay we don’t need drinks but we really need water while we wait for our food. The food was sitting on the counter for a while so we asked to take it to go and then our server said in a very disgruntled way “the owner decided to comp your food” we ordered a couple appetizers (thanks owner) but then the server grabbed the mug that was in my father in laws hand and slammed it down all angry and then walked past him after almost slamming into him. Unfortunately a very unhappy woman and they need better service. After all that horrible experience we still never got water. Update… we tried the hot wings we got to go and they are really good so...

Bad Energy, Bad Vibes - from the second we walked into the establishment. We were welcomed with glaring eyes from what seemed like locals. The waitress did not even say hello, we spoke with her to see a menu and were responded to with attitude.

We were going to chalk it up to it maybe it being a bad day for them, but I felt it necessary to share my experience.

Not a restaurant or bar that I would recommend to anyone. Not a town I would recommend visiting. It’s actually crazy to think about how much of an impact, one experience can have on an individual.
