Probably the worst takeout experience I've ever had. We used to really enjoy the old Indian restaurant that was here, this one is nowhere near as good.
Short version: Waited over 1.5 hours for food, was given the wrong order, drove home, got a call from them, drove back, waited AGAIN for my food. Worst part was how they didn't even ask if I had opened anything on the returned order. They just gave it straight to the courier.
Long version: I went on Valentines night, called an order through which wasn't overly large as it was just for 2 people. I was told it would be 1 hour. I arrive after 1 hour, the food isn't ready, there's one person ahead of me for pickup and 3 couples in the restaurant - not busy.
I wait for 30 minutes in the restaurant. I get my order, they throw in 2 Sprite as an 'apology' but service is pretty much a rush and terrible. I get home, my girlfriend sees Pakoras, we didn't order these, phone rings and they've given me the wrong order. I drive back, they take the food, don't check if we've touched it (we hadn't) and hand it to the courier. I then wait for about another 8 minutes and then they hurriedly give me my food, barely apologise and I leave. The food itself - The vindaloo and Aloo Gobi were nice, but not as good as the old restaurant. The rest of our food was just as good as the old place. I won't be returning though as that service was the worst. Although the worst part was I had already paid and tipped when I arrived.. the most undeserving tip...
Read moreUPDATE Spoke with the manager, Pradeep & he explained for orders like SkipTheDishes, if no preference is available or set, theyll err on the side of caution and provide a very mild dish. Looking back at Skip, that is mentioned... Kind of. Could be a little clearer in my opinion, but it is there.
Agreed I'll give the restaurant another try soon, as a dine-in to get the full experience & can order spice level etc.
Ultimately, a poor experience is understandable from time to time, and I potentially just got unlucky. How a business responds if/when they occur speaks volumes - and I've no complaints around how Pradeep handled this.
Will update further once I've tried again. In the meantime have updated my review to 4/5 and removed the pic/reference to (takeout pics aren't really fair to judge in hindsight) as while I didn't enjoy all of the food, I did enjoy some - and the management response has been exceptional.

Tried for the first time tonight, delivery via Skip. Jalfrezi is like nothing I've ever had before - unfortunately not in a good way. Doesn't taste of much at all, I've no idea what this dish is. Maybe I'm just familiar with a regional variant of a jalfrezi. Garlic naan & fish pakora are very good. Lamb Biriyani is decent, although quite a lot of mint.
Probably not somewhere I'd order from again, but the pakora etc, paired with all the other reviews likely means it's just these dishes &/or these...
Read moreAmazing food, a very friendly and welcoming venue. The food was outstanding. The dishs we ordered were Chicken Vindaloo with Naan bread and Fish tikka cooked in the Tandoor. The chicken was cooked to perfection. The pieces were exceptable size and the nice and tender. The sause was was not very tangi but correctly spiced with proper amounts. Many other restaurants I have experienced they barely do the sauce correct. The three main components the Taste, Presentation and the Aroma are all well balanced. The Naan bread were done in Tandoor good. But next time I would prefer to be cooked few more minutes more. But it's my personal preference. The Fish platter was so good, the potion size was exceptable and taste was good and should not forget to mention the Presentation was quite appealing. The duo Mahavir and Pradeep who's running the show in the kitchen had done an amazing job, doing justice to the location in overall. Service was outstanding from front staff to the back of the kitchen. The server girl (with Asian background) was very efficient, friendly and attentive. The food was quite appealing and definitely we would drop by again and spread the word of mouth to our friends about this amazing venue Hopefully you'll would maintain the standards as it is now.
Thank You for offering good...
