Pretty average in terms of small town drive ins. The place could use a good scrubbing.

I've eaten at Max's Drive-In a few times, the experience is typically always decent with a slightly positive lean due to the niceness of the staff and the humble atmosphere of the place itself. However when it comes to the food I hate to say it, things could be a little better.

Typically when I come here I eat a burger, some fries and some sort of appetizer, nothing too heavy but something to get me through the day for a few hours. However much of the food comes frozen and is cooked to thaw essentially. The freshest things I believe in the restaurant are the pizza dough and gravy, which are both made from hand and are delightful. However burgers, fries, buns, etc.; are all bought in prepared.

Now this ties I believe into the nature of the restaurant being the closest thing Bashaw has to "Fast Food" but I will say that having a burger patty which isn't even half as thick as one bun isn't too appealing. Paired with the fries lacking in much taste.

I'm sure you'd have a much more pleasant experience with the pizzas, as they have fresh dough and well seasoned sauce also. Although I'd put the pizzas closer to the front of the menu if they were the big selling point but I digress.

For the service and atmosphere. When I dined here it was a delightful experience. The staff are all very friendly and make good chat which makes the atmosphere better. My only problems are that I ordered a canned Pepsi and ended up with a large which costed me a dollar more, and the fact that a napkin wasn't given to me for a greasy finger food meal. Though the waitress who waited on me was new I think.

All things considered, I believe Max's is a good dining experience, it has great atmosphere but I don't think I can in good faith recommend the burgers too much as I believe in freshness. Nevertheless I do hope you have a really good time dining here if you do choose to! I hope my...

Older decor, but cute and clean restaurant, and the washrooms were nice as well. Kind staff (I assume the owners). I hate to say it, but the food left A LOT to be desired. I was expecting at least a decent burger and a milkshake or something from a small town drive in...but it was all so gross (not even tasteless or cold or any other way to describe it...just gross). Burger was gross, chicken fingers were disgusting pressed rectangles, fries were saltless, and even the spaghetti was gross (how??). None of my kids ate their meals, and upon sampling them, I could understand why. Everything we bought, nobody could stomach, including me (the garbage can for my kids meals). I feel like they must have some good meals available since there are lots of positive reviews...but we definitely didn't pick any of them. I would possibly give them a second try because I do like to support local when traveling to small towns for hockey...but ONLY if I knew what to order there that was popular. ...and I'm pretty certain that I've never actually written a negative Google review of any business...but the 4.3/5 review for this restaurant when I was looking for somewhere to grab dinner was absolutely mind boggling to me...so I wanted to caution people...I would give it a 2 or 3 overall just cuz it's clean and the staff were kind...but the food we just experienced was a...

Well I can't give it a 1 or 2 star because the staff was friendly. You can tell it was a local owned little biz. However ... The reason for 3 star over 4 or 5 was the price and value. We got the kids ice cream cones because we didn't know where else to go on our camping trip. For a single scoop, it was almost $4 each (and we're talking single scoop in every sense). Usually EVERY place we've ever been they pack some inside the cone, then put a good size scoop onto the spoon before placing it on the cone to give you a good solid ice cream cone. Here we got a small scoop of ice cream dropped on the cone with nothing packed in, and the small size of the scoop on the spoon was amazingly small. Then on the two adults cones (cookies and cream) they were both freezer burnt. Tasted horrible, but we were too polite to say anything. The kids didn't even notice. It was cold and flavourful to them. So in a nutshell - they could add more value to thier offerings, or at least ensure the quality of product matched...
