Good straight up typical highway food with the usual Lebanese twist, meaning it is not a bad idea to consider the soup of the day or the specials. Service is standard. Leave a tip, most locals do not. Just order what sounds safe (with my caveat that the soups might be above expectations) and you should be happy. I really do not particularly understand other reviews about window seating. There are windows on two of the three eating sides. There is plenty of ambient light. More than any of the other places. It ain't Chez Pannise. It isn't as though you think about which side of the place you want to sit on while you view the Golden Gate bridge whist pairing your garden salad and donair with the Sommelier's suggestions on wines. Servings are massive, so unless you are a typical 400lb Albertan, I'd suggest sticking with the lighter side of the menu and perhaps ordering salad instead of fries, even if it costs extra. I often just order the BLT alone or with salad and get out of there with tip well under $10. If you are skinny and can handle the calories, then the beef dip or club sandwich are superb. You will get out on the same tab. The steak sandwich is very cheap. Just order it medium rare or medium, as the meat quality will give you something very chewy if you order rare. Breakfast in this place is a steal, regardless of what you order. I am pretty picky about my eggs, and over easy has never been overcooked. When I have ordered sunny side up they were better than I can do. I have no idea whether they do eggs benedict (see my reviews regarding other local places) but I would always suggest either waiting till you get to the City or do them yourself. Basically, from a 'local' and traveler's perspective I'd have to give...

The bacon Swiss mushrooms burger had an average normal patty you can get anywhere. It had a cream of mushroom sauce and a fair bit of mushroom added and bacon. We requested no onions and they accommodated our request, which was a bonus.
The large fries were really good, crispy texture to the fries itself, not overcooked, and a fair bit for the price you pay. The chicken Cesar wrap had a nice garlic Cesar dressing. The chicken was moist and had lots of chunks of large diced chicken too.
Everything was warm. The wrap was slightly burnt but edible. The deep-fried Mac and cheese were good but the portion size for 8 of them for 9.00 is a little steep. Granted they do inform you of how many you get for the price you pay. Still nice though in flavour and texture.
The guy who started our order was friendly but he had to go back to cook. So a younger girl who was not as friendly took our order. Clearly, she didnât want to work. However, she did repeat the order back and took everything down correctly.

I am a local to the area and have tried Sammy's a few times before, each time with poor results.
This time was the worst, I placed an order for 1 beef donair with sweet sauce and no tomatoes, and 1 chicken Donair with sweet sauce and no tomatoes. Get home, and I have 2 beef donairs WITH tomatoes and TZATIKI sauce, I assume as it was not sweet sauce and tasted more off sour cream mixed with mayonnaise.
I also had ordered a poutine with CHEESE CURD'S and not shredded mozzarella as the person taking my order confirmed with me.
The strips of donair meat were also very thin, you might compare them to slices of pepperoni you would find in a children's lunchable...
