Don't let the construction trailer outside fool you, inside here be gems!

Summary: Good Prices, Great Food, Amazing People

Came in on Good Friday just thinking to pick up a snack to make the last leg to Beaverlodge after driving by and being surprised to see the open sign on!

As I pulled up I saw the support for Ronald McDonald house and immediately knew I was buying something.

Was greeted VERY enthusiastically by both owners and walked in to find a beautiful little cafe with an awesome menu. We hardly had to look at the menu as Scotty gave us some great recommendations right away.

My wife and I immediately decided to sit down at the gorgeous wooden tablea and enjoy a meal instead of a to go snack. I got a "No Questions" Burger and a Blueberry Milkshake. My wife got Mango Ice Cream ans a Farmers sausage hot dog and when she asked if she could have lettuce instead of a bun they ENTHUSIASTICALLY custom built her a beautiful salad-style bowl.

The food was fantastic! Fresh and good ingredients. Burger was fresh, juicy, and well sized! Had a bite of my wife's and it was soooo good.

Now the real reason I'll make sure to come back...the amazing customer treatment.

Everyone that walked in was greeted like they had just come home. They were quick to make the food but when they were making yours, you had their full attention and care, including calling you over to confirm your toppings.

How Scotty was with some kids that came in, slightly disappointed as they were hoping for donuts (sold at the then-closed gas station), was a joy to watch. He went over and above to get them ice cream instead and even went out of his way to try and find them flavours they wanted. All while talking about how his mission in life is to bring a smile to kids faces ever since he had his son in the hospital and couldn't always make them smile.

As a childhood cancer survivor who has heard how hard my parents struggled especially when they too couldn't make everyone smile all the time while in hospital, that hit me where I live.

Didn't expect to go from smiling, laughing, and then crying over a burger while stopping for a "snack"

Thank you! And Please support this...

I am a big fan of road trip eatery gems and this one has to be one of the best I have been to in a long time. When you walk up to the Shack it doesn't look like much but they have done a lot with the space they have. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the to die for burger smell. The next thing you notice is that the staff lights right up to great you. Leanne was genuinely excited that I was there for the first time and helped me make my burger choice. I was dining alone and Leanne kept me company with excellent banter and wanted to make sure I had the best burger experience possible. Now this place is a bit on the pricey side but the quality is there and sometimes you have to pay for quality and I felt like I got my money's worth. Leanne made my burger just the way I like it. Being a bit of a burger buff I have a particular build style. I keep it simple, bottom bun, ketchup, mustard pickles, onions, for the top I like mayo lettuce and tomato. Oh and the diced dill pickles were wonderful. It was tough not to make animal noises while I ate. It's the type of burger you wish you could be hungry all over again just to fit in another one. Should you be driving by this place it is worth you while to time your hunger accordingly because this place is definitely a roadside gem that shouldn't be missed. Keep up the good work Scotty and give Leanne a raise,...

We stopped here for lunch. They made everything fresh. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Infused with Lemon. IT WAS SO MOUTH WATERING GOOD. (There's other toppings, I like lemon) AND A SPECIAL HAMBURGER. THAT TOO WAS LIP SMACKING DELICIOUS! Scotty gave us a sample of a blueberry milkshake. Wow! So refreshing. Not too sweet. Scotty and his crew are so friendly and every burger is made to your liking... we tried the wedges as well, I gotta say they are made how I like them. There were the small, SLIGHTLY over cooked crumbs I LOVE TO NIBBLE ON... NOTHING WAS DRIPPING FROM GREASE OR EXCESS SAUCE. We were taking it to go, and there's nothing worse than a burger with too much sauce dripping on your clothes... the crew added exactly what we wanted. Not a generic made burger here. THE PLACE IS RUSTIC CLEAN The wooden tables give off that country vibe. Oh, did I mention coffee was free? I preferred tea and it was nice n hot fresh.

I'd recommend EVERY ITEM ON THE MENU. I always order a grilled chicken wherever i go because not many places offer that anymore. The prices are fair. It's worth the stop. One of those hidden Gems the locals know.... Thank you so much, Scotty. Your crew works so hard. And they're good at...

Wow, keep in mind the picture below is 2 burgers that survived a 4 hr trip home for my wife and me to enjoy!! One of the best tasting burgers giving you the taste of a home cooked burger mixed with a subway selection of toppings!! If you blink you’ll miss this location but if you’ve ever been you’ll never forget to stop!! Scotty and Robyn have a hidden gem on a long alberta highway here in Crooked Creek a must stop for me and my family from here on in! Also their dedication to the kids with cancer society and the money they raise with “Fight for hope” is heartwarming to know there are great people still out there doing their part!! God bless you guys keep up the great work!! Thanks for the burgs!! 🔥🔥

The interior, featuring wooden tables and chairs, was an unexpected yet pleasant touch. On the wall, a mural explains the establishment's support for Ronald McDonald House. The lady behind the counter was friendly and professional while we deliberated on our order. She demonstrated patience as we selected our condiments, prompting the question: do they offer a wide variety of condiments, encouraging bravery to try them all? The burgers themselves were thick and juicy, notably homemade. The fries, also homemade, were not excessively thick-cut but still satisfying. The milkshake was more akin to a smoothie, lacking thickness, but the chunky espresso was exceptionally flavorful.
