If you head here looking for a good deli sandwich I recommend you buy the meat and make your own at home. Extremely disappointed in my order today. Apparently the toppings are being rationed completely so you only get one small slice of tomato (the end cut) and one slice of pickle. So really it was meat and cheese on a bun. I went and asked for the extra tomato and the gentleman behind the counter told me all the slices were small - perhaps he doesn’t like toppings on his sandwiches as he only provided one extra slice. I’m all for supporting local businesses but I can say confidently I wouldn’t recommend this place for those looking to grab a snack after a hike.

Just heard about this place through a local on Facebook! Came here at the end of my mountain trip heading home. So Glad I stopped in. They have a deli counter where you can buy hot lunch and also a meat counter section where you can buy cuts and fresh meat. Ended up buying some Elk steak, venison sausage, pepperette sticks and bison energy bites from their fridge. The Elk steak was amazing and will be back to buy some more. Such a great selection of meat, cheese and gourmet food.

Have been coming here for many years. Absolutely the Valbella special sub. Unfortunately, they've changed the bread they use. Now you can't even bite into the bun without pushing all of the filling out. The top part of the bun is inedible. Really hope they can find a softer bread.

We have been coming to Valbella each time we are in the area and never had a disappointment until this most recent visit. Drove in from nearby campground for our last meal before heading home, and was met with an unbelievably poor and arrogant customer service. We ordered the pulled pork sandwich, our server, a young fella bluntly replied, “We don’t have it.” We saw it was on the menu, and asked again (to be sure if we heard correctly), this time mentioned that it was on the menu. He plainly repeated, “We don’t have it.”OK, we got it this time - but would it have hurt if Valbella would be little courteous about not being able to offer something they had on the menu? He also asked if I would like my sandwich heated, to which I replied, yes please. I saw a nod/acknowledgement as he went away to prep the sandwich. What was handed back to me was a cold sandwich in a bag. We later enquired if our sandwiches were heated, as he had offered us the option in the first place. His response was just critically surprised, “Oh you want them heated?” Anyway, it was a bad start to our day. That young fella and the person at the check out all just seemed to be in a bad mood or something but that really rubbed us off in a very wrong way. Why be unfriendly to your customers? Unless you don’t want us as customers - next time just put a sign - I can read...

Ever since the whole homophonic incident with the owner I haven’t gone back until today to buy a turkey for thanksgiving. I saw on their website that at 2pm today they were selling the turkeys that didn’t get preorder so I drove from Banff to go get one right at 2. When I asked the cashier about it he seemed to not know so went to ask who I now know to be the Manager, Annette. She seemed very annoyed with me asking about the turkey because apparently I was too early, 5 minutes that being, and that someone was working on it and would take about 30 minutes. I told them I’d wait but they did say 2pm so I’m a bit annoyed myself. There was a lot of the cashier asking questions and then walk 10 ft to where the manager was while I watched her reaction and rudeness to her employees and him coming back and asking more questions. In the end I got an 8.7 lb turkey for $101 which is completely unbelievable. That being said I will never shop at...

I have been coming to Valbella for a freshly made sandwich for many years. They are Awesome!!! I tell friends and family to stop in for the same. Today, a snooty guy refused to make us sandwiches made to order and would only pull pre made ones from the cooler even when asked. It wasnt busy. We were thebonly patrons. The bread was stale and the cheese was dried out so they were clearly not prepared recently. He opened them up for any additional veggies requested which in my opinion doesn't count as freshly made. My wife didn't want mayo but she had to endure. I hope this was the dude's decision and not the decision of the establishment. We cannot underestimate the importance of things made fresh in a fast food world.

Sincerely,

A die hard customer &...
