I’m writing a review because I was not happy with this place at all. It is almost 40° out today so we needed a drink while driving around and we stopped into this place as we drove by. There’s a little food truck outside and then a little building you go inside where you have to order your food and pay. So we went and paid for our pizza and one Coke and then you have to go outside and pick up your food. But after my husband did pay for our food, the guy that took our order inside says ..you cannot eat your food in here. Which we had no intentions of so we stood outside for 20 minutes in the scorching heat.(Would’ve drank our drink if we had it while waiting) we got our pizza We got our pizza and my husband said I also ordered a Coke and the guy said you have to go inside to get that. I was sitting in the car because it was so hot out so my husband took our little pizza and walked in to grab our Coke. Immediately the guy says “”I told you you can’t eat that in here”” very rudely and my husband says I just need my Coke and he says OK but”” I’ve already said don’t bring your food in here”” and my shocked husband says OK and he then proceeded to say I’ll get you your Coke and got it and give it to him. This is a tiny little place we assume because we’re getting our food outside we were also getting our Coke out there. Very disgusting Attitude, there is no need for that and maybe if you’re not supposed to bring the food in there after we pay for it why don’t you give us our items that we ordered or mention where we would get the Coke? We didn’t see it over in the corner because there was girls sitting at the table. Not to mention we sat outside waiting for this pizza for 20 minutes while the 3 to 4 kids inside the trailer we’re cooking our food and swearing their heads off going on and on about an incident that happened to one them. They had the screen across, but the window was not shut and we heard the entire story loudly. . I was appalled that they were talking like this, and there was other customers out there that could clearly hear this And I just thought this place is a joke. Teach your employees some actual respect. All the guy had to say is “”sorry sir you can’t eat your food in here and my husband again would’ve said oh I’m just getting my Coke and he could’ve just nicely Said I’ll grab it for you or something and there was no reason at all for this type...

Ste. Anne’s Bakery in Grafton, Ontario near Cobourg, Ontario, Canada serving vegan ice cream and milk shakes including gluten-free breads, teas, desserts, sandwiches, tacos, pizzas and more. It’s my top stop on the 401 when driving East from Toronto. I called two days ahead to order 8 loaves of gluten-free bread - cinnamon, cheese and 5 grain. It’s one of the best gluten free and (some) vegan breads I’ve found so I always stock up due to the distance to get it. I also stock up on teas and chose 3 gluten-free decaffeinated teas.

We started with a gluten-free scone that was heated adding butter and black truffle honey. Wow - fabulous. Then on to the standby vegan and gluten-free chocolate milkshake, what I like to call the best milkshake in the world served with a thick straw - as it should be 🙂. The shake was smooth, flavourful, thick and delicious. Couldn’t not order the brisket and mushroom tacos. Perfection. Flavours to die for. Looks like the are building a separate outside, hopefully covered, seating area. Otherwise there is the inside eating area, outdoor patio with umbrellas and picnic benches under the trees just down the hill beside the bakery. The attendant was cheery and helpful but we would have benefited from him checking if we wanted gluten-free or wheat wraps for our tacos on ordering as we had to switch with the chefs at the truck. We left happy as cats in a warm sunny window.

Heads up that the food truck food is not all gluten-free and yet you order inside and must eat food truck food outside not inside. This is a little confusing but is due to “certification rules” - perhaps gluten free?

Suggestions would be have the attendant check preferences on gluten-free food truck items on ordering, go all gluten free outside too just to simplify things and offer white and/or pesto based pizzas for those with night-shade sensitivities.

See you agai...

I felt a bit tricked by a lady staff member as I ordered pizza from the food truck, but because I ordered non gluten free crust I had to eat this outside. I was only told that I would have to eat my pizza outside after I had already paid for it. It was a cloudy, windy, cold day and rain was starting so I would have opted for gluten free crust if I had known this information.

Although the food was great (had chilli, pizza, drinks, and a date square) I just am very disappointed with this confusing set up of the gluten free facilities, doesn’t the food truck also cook with gluten crust? Wouldn’t there be cross contamination there? So why can’t I eat my pizza in peace beside a celiac individual?

I would appreciate better communication in the future. On top of all that, it did end up raining so we had to change seats and hide under this house roof beside the covered area they have is super windy and exposed to the...

Love is tasted here. The Bakery is a recent addition (within the last decade) to the growing legacy that is Ste. Anne’s Spa. The bakery can be found in the valley of Academy Hill Road, less than 1 km from Hwy 401. They do ALL things gluten free, really, really well. Specializing in butter tarts, dairy-free coconut ice cream, and Nan’s (original recipe) cranberry orange scones! Just so I am clear, “specializing according to me”, because there are so many wonderful food options here, it will take some time for you to choose from all the offerings on the menu. You can dine in or take out. You can also, call in and place a custom order. Don’t be shy, the Chefs are Red-Seal and if you need a special cake or torte, they can often accommodate. Enjoy my friends!

The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I ordered the Vegan Poutine and I waited 28 minutes for the poutine. I was so excited to get the poutine but when I got the poutine, the diary free cheese curds were too large and there was barley any dairy free gravy on the poutine (it was almost dry) and sadly the fries were not as good as I expected. I hate wasting food but it was not good and I sadly I could not eat it. Unfortunately I am disappointed with the food, maybe I will order a dairy free pizza if I go back for their fresh food. I am quite disappointed to be honest. Other than the poutine being not good, the dairy free lemon tart in the bakery was delicious!
