We were long time customers for Grecco, we would even pack up donairs and bring them back to the states for some family members. Unfortunately, it seems like a lot has changed at this establishment. Called tonight to order two donairs (regular: tomatoes, onions and sauce) and then found out that cheese was added. Thought this would be a simple “sorry about that” with a fix, but no. Instead we were met with argument, and blame ( saying we ordered wrong lol), when we regularly order the SAME thing. Come to find out, our steak order was also wrong. If you look online, you will see the Amherst menu that says a steak oven sub comes with green peppers, onions and mushrooms. Again, something we regularly order that comes with those specific ingredients, at this specific location. However, today it was made with all of those ingredients AND Baja chipolte sauce. Also tried to rectify this, and was told that even though the menu doesn’t say it, that’s what goes on it… I don’t know about you all, but typically if I order off a menu I expect to get what’s written on well… the menu?
Requested to speak with a manager, only to find out it was the owner! LOL the owner met customer concerns in this way. Another red flag. Typically when we go, there is an older guy working (maybe the husband?) whoever he is, he’s great. But this lady is delusional.
A refund or remake was not offered, however we left the sandwhiches on the counter and told her she could throw them out, and not to worry about a refund just that we won’t be back again. We got into our car, and ordered at Freddie’s down the road (a bonus is that they actually follow the recipes that they post online!)
While ordering Freddie’s, the woman at Greco called back and then again began to argue. Trying to say my husband said x,y z . Keep in mind, we were both there for ordering etc lol.
She then offered to “remake the donairs for no charge, but you are wrong, you are confused not me”
So overall, a great waste of 35$! Also tried to argue about us being long time frequent customers and that our number didn’t pop up. My husbands phone number is an American number, so I gave her my other two numbers just so she could verify how much customer $ she would be losing.
What a disappointment, and sad to see one of our old favorites going down hill.
However, we do reccomend Freddie’s. They said that they’ve heard...
Read moreTook advantage of the medium pizzas for $8.99 offer - ordered 4 - and also got a donair. The donair was, according to the person who ate it, okay except that the donair sauce was runny, had way too much garlic powder in it and tasted slightly sour. The garlic fingers with cheese - oh, is that what those little browned up spots on top were supposed to be, cheese? Dry, oh my god, dry because there was so little cheese, they just basically threw a pizza crust with garlic butter into the oven. And in a bizarre twist I’ve never seen before, after it came out of the oven, they threw a bit of cold shredded mozzarella on top that kinda warmed up to sweaty cheese consistency. It was so out of left field, I couldn’t figure it out on visual inspection - I pulled one of the mozzarella slugs off to taste and figure out what it was. (See picture.) The three pizzas were cooked fine, had an adequate amount of toppings but the amount of cheese was slightly below decent. Also, the tomato sauce was super bitter and tasted like the cheapest of tomato-like sauce with sugar thrown in and the “free crust toppings” were thrown on in an inconsistent and haphazard manner, showing no care for final quality of product nor respect for the customer’s order. Even my kid commented on how back they looked and that’s gotta tell you something.
To the owner: You seem to imply that people are only writing negative reviews to ruin your business’ reputation. Sir, the only person ruining your business’ reputation is you. The success of any business is not in a single customer but in a repeat customer. Might I suggest you read your negative reviews and take away some tips for ways to improve instead of only...
Read moreI had called to place an order for pickup after viewing their online menu, and requested an item that was shown on their menu, to which they told me they didn't have as it was a previous deal offered. i requested something similar, to which the original order taker had someone else take the phone and i had to repeat my information and my entire request, only to be accused of being a prank caller because i'm a new customer in their system, after repeating myself twice now and being accused of prank calling, i handed the phone to my boyfriend, order was placed, but they said that once they prepare it, before they cook it we have to answer the phone again when they call or they don't cook our order. when they called, my boyfriend answered and they insisted he give them his name and number, to which he declined as i was the one picking it up, so they didn't need both of our information. we went to pick up our order, the entire kitchen is in disarray, meanwhile the employee was sitting, and we received our order, the pizza had the wrong toppings on it.
needless to say, being accused of being a prank caller and the attitude i was given by the workers was enough to make me not want to come back. i thought this place was going downhill when debby and barry owned it, but this place is a...
