My wife and I were very excited to try Buddy's. We had been taking a tour of Southeast Saskatchewan and heard about Buddy's and decided check it out. We loved the rustic staircase we had to climb to reach the bar and restaurant. The first thing you notice is the beautiful wooden bar. Then you notice the rustic feel of the restaurant. The service however was not very pleasant. The server who was clearly busy doing other things, such as cooking, cleaning tables and the bank drop never seemed happy we were there. We never felt welcomed but we felt as if we were more of a bother. The food on the other hand was fantastic. My wife's poutine was perfect. The gravy was delicious. My burger was very good although I had assumed it would come with lettuce and tomatoes. I definitely would suggest people give Buddy's a try. You really are eating in a little...

Beautifully designed and decorated, it was built in 1906 and was renovated into a pub and restaurant in the 1990’s. It boasts one of the longest bars in western Canada. Built of local brick, in a version of the Queen Anne style, the “High House” or “Opera House” is a registered historical site. The opera hall is located under a two story vaulted ceiling on the second floor and was also the first consolidated location for many of Arcola’s municipal services, including the town office, fire hall and jail. It’s open year round with great food like the famous Buddy Burger and great steaks. Enjoy music, TV, pool and cards! Meet great people in a friendly atmosphere. I’ve been here a few times and had my birthday here this year, it’s never a disappointment. I can’t...

Apparently this place was once an Opera House and with its fine wood details, high ceilings and multiple levels, you may find eating difficult as your eye catches something else interesting to look at. I spent a good portion of my knoshing on ribs and onion rings wandering around and taking in all the details. A super friendly place with a great local vibe. And that long bar is inviting to sit and have a cool drink of your favourite libation. Highly...
