Just stopped by Flora's for a late lunch. If you are ever lucky enough to get a chance to visit West Bamfield - this place is incredible. A hidden jem!! Tia was amazing and had some really neat stories of the area. The drinks were fabulous!!! We tried three drinks; the Roasted Red Pepper Marg - which sounds a little different but we all say it's definitely a MUST TRY. So light and refreshing! We also had The Butterfly G+T - which was a beautiful shade of purple and with a hints of sweetness and citrus was equally as refreshing! We also had the Amaretto Sour. Not being a huge fan of Amaretto I was surprised how much I loved it! The light foam on top with the citrus flavors were a perfect ballance. For food we had the lemon pepper wings (probably some of the best wings I've ever had) which were very lemony and the perfect amount of crisp! And also the Butter Chicken Poutine were was very saucy and cheesy with lots of tender chicken! We also had the Thai Peanut Bowl with chicken. It had kale and red peppers, lots of chicken and tons of flavour! I asked if it was possible to get it on the less spicy side and they were able to accommodate and it was perfect! 👌🏻 Just steps off the boardwalk, this resto-pub-bar with its beautifully modern renovation it a must visit!! Sitting on the sunny patio looking out at the water was the perfect way to spend...
Read moreI feel so grateful that we were able to stay right on the water in this inn in the VERY special place that is Bamfield. Where we were staying is so secluded that we needed a water taxi to get there and I think has only about 40 full time residents. I'm a little of two minds here because this place is so beautiful and calm that I don't want anyone else to know about it!||This inn is right on the boardwalk and the family suite is right on the water. Everything was cozy and comfortable and the kitchen has everything we need. Tara was so lovely, accommodating and helpful. I have a severe allergy and was worried about a shared kitchen space. Tara spent so much time helping me figure out how I could be safe and we ended up in the family suite with a private kitchen. I think they are soon going to open a restaurant (hint hint - celiac safe options, please!) but we cooked for ourselves for this trip and ate on our gorgeous patio overlooking the water. ||There is a little hill with a small playground and beautiful views just up the hill and a little store next to us with the cutest dogs and kindest service. Brady's beach is about a 20 minute hike away and you'll probably not see a more beautiful AND quiet beach in BC. My family loved it. I will...
Read moreLarge group fishing trip (15 guys) set up here for 4 nights. Amazing trip, amazing location. Tara went above and beyond to accommodate our needs given they are still in early stages of full scale operation. A serious workhorse and amazing host. As group accommodations go, this is one of the best we have had. Best location in Bamfield right beside the general store, comfortable outdoor areas and fully equipped eating areas. The whole place newly renovated with comfortable rooms. Is a bit loud in the common areas/hallways in the back bunkhouse, but if you are all fishing, you are typically settled down reasonable hour anyway.||It was a juggle dealing with moorage (need for 4 boats and lots of shuttling by Tara) but sounds like that will be mostly resolved later this year. Sounds like it will also have restaurant/bar full operation by next year as well with space for around 35 (note short term they may still be limited to 4 boat front property moorage for 2024 while they work on larger solutions). Freezer space needs some improvement but sounds like that is coming as well.||Highly recommended for a boys fishing trip and even enough 'zones' scattered for family...
