Disappointing For weeks we were eagerly anticipating the Ukrainian Feast pop-up event. How could we not place a pickup order for two with a Ukrainian heritage background and a love for perogies, cabbage rolls, and kielbasa.
Significantly Late Pickup Order When the day arrived for the 5 pm pickup, we encountered a lineup and no sign of orders coming out of the Royston Roasting Coffee house. After 15 minutes of waiting in a hot sunny lineup with no communication, they advised us that our orders would be at least an hour late. We decided to go for a walk and returned at 6 pm. When we returned, we stood in line for an additional 15 mins, and our orders were finally brought out.
Poor Quality Food Where to start, the food was cold, and there was no arrangement just thrown together. The perogies were not fully cooked, the cabbage roll (one roll) was bland and lifeless, and the kielbasa probably came from a grocery store. The cost of this "feast" did not justify the high-end pricing. We will not be returning for any...
Read moreFive stars plus five more. While vacationing on Vancouver Island, my wife and I discovered this little gem. Jessie and Gavin are the wonderful young couple that run this quaint little jewel. I ordered a Black Diamond roast and my wife ordered a Chai Tea Latte. Both were remarkable. Jessie and Gavin were wonderful to chat with, both extremely knowledgeable and passionate about their craft. Jessie took the time to explain the process and introduced me to a few of their outstanding blends. My wife and I left our car in the parking lot for a quick walk and when we returned, Jessie left a small sample of coffee and a note on our windshield. What a wonderful surprise. If you are a true coffee lover, I encourage you to stop, a sample one of their blends. You will not regret it. Thanks again Jessie and...
Read moreI've been getting to know Comox for the past week, and settling in. I was looking for some interesting coffee beans to take home and happened upon Royston Roasting.
They are a total slam dunk. The place has a great feel the minute you walk in the door. Bright, cozy, and friendly. I was met by the owners, a husband and wife team. They were lovely, welcoming and were happy to chat with me a bit about their beans and busuness. They knew their stuff.
I had a sausage roll and espresso (both fabulous and complimentary) before leaving with my coffee beans. First Morning Kiss was the bag I chose, and it's exactly what I was looking for. They have a good variety of brewing equipment if you are looking to up your coffee game. I couldn't be happier with my experience, and will...
