Shack N Wagon — Restaurant in Area A (Baynes Sound)

This is Denman Island's best restaurant... YIKES!! Poor islanders--you need to fill the gaps here as there aren't ANY restaurants on this island. The coffee shop closes at four and although the Shack N Wagon is open until 7pm we were forewarned they may run out of food before closing. Good inside information as we arrived almost three hours before closing and were the last orders of the day. Best to phone in your order to guarantee your meal 😛

The food is good and the prices are very good--check out the menu online. The view is outstanding. The seating is homey. The cook is personable and friendly. The woman who took our order was a bit confused about pricing and didn't take our orders accurately... Not a big deal as this is a very laid back and chill place to grab...

First time Shack visiters from Calgary. Funky farm universe with music! Gorgeous view and the food is delicious. Call ahead and the wait wont be long at all but you can always stroll this heritage farm from the turn of last century while you wait. The barn alone can melt hrs into minutes. Eat your lunch at one of the tables, hammock or chairs or wander around and view the many artifacts and antiques that were felled by the march of time. A small path at the end of the driveway leads to the beach where during low tide you can walk to a small lighthouse and pick up a few oysters if you want. There are many options to enjoy your meal. We came in low november season so the hours are fri sat sun 12-7. Summer have extended hours but am not sure...

Awesome grilled food from an authentic chuck waggon with a diverse menu; the highlight being a selection of burgers as creative and amazing as their names (some so full you may need a fork to finish!), good fries and onion rings too. You can call ahead, get fresh fruit and veggies from The Shack (where you order if not calling); then enjoy your food on a beach themed fire pit in a hammock, at a bench in the sun watching the clouds get caught like wool on the tops of Van Isl' mountains or walk down to the beach and enjoy your food...
