Burger Barn — Restaurant in Area A (Seymour Inlet/Knight Inlet)

We went here for the first time on Thursday, August 31 for 6 PM. There were about eight people in front of us in line to order, and a good eight people on the other side, waiting for their orders as well as the staff taking phone in orders (it would seem the phone in orders had priority). It did take two hours, we got to order after about an hour and then an hour wait if we hadn’t known it was going to take this long we would not have stayed. two people had halibut and chips and cod and chips. The fish was great but the chips were terrible. Another person had a beef burger which did not taste good and another person had a cod she burger which they said was good again all the fries were over cooked and greasy Coleslaw was good. I stopped by Burger Barn and had fish and chips before catching ferry back to Port McNeil. The fish and chips were the best I've ever had!! The homemade tartar sauce was was life changing! I can tell the owners here value quality and love what they do. The gravy, batter, and sauces are all home made by Michelle's husband. Michelle made my trip here in Pointula so memorable. Because my ferry is delayed and I was tempted to buy a milkshake earlier, she drove over to the ferry terminal and hand delivered a milkshake because she felt bad for my long wait. For a literal barn in a parking lot, I was IMPRESSED. Quality ingredients, delicious, served with a smile. What more could you ask for?

The burger looked like it should have been in a commercial, and tasted just as good. Perfect sear, thick slices of bacon, caramelized onions, and crisp lettuce. For the fish and chips, the cod was fresh and delicious in a light, crisp batter, cooked perfectly golden. Even the onion rings were perfect.
