My family has been going here for years. I know what the size of a normal scoop should be. I went there the other day, and they had almost no flavours to choose from, but I found one that I was quite excited about trying. I ordered it and paid for a single scoop on a waffle cone, and when I was eventually served, it was very obviously undersized. Everybody else around me got a normal size scoop except me. It was not really a scoop; just shavings that barely filled half of the waffle cone and was not compacted at all.

Now giving them the benefit of the doubt, I waited for the girl who serve me to say something about why - but she didn’t. There was no explanation given at all. When I asked her if they ran out of it or something, she just said “yeah.” And then after a pause very snarkily said “ I guess if you want another scoop, we can give you something else”. Taken aback, I said no thanks. But then I noticed people who were in line and ordered BEHIND me had ordered the same flavour and not only did they have some, but had a bigger scoop than I did.

So I went back and said “actually I will take you up on that other scoop”. It was served and I tried to make the best of my cone of disappointment. When Steve the manager came out, he asked what happened. Someone speaking for me simply said “you ran out of her flavour”. Instead of apologizing he just shrugged and said “oh that’s an easy fix”. And then added, “right?”

Now I am an honest person but I didn’t want to be rude so I said jokingly “not really, I would have preferred just one scoop of what I ordered.” Again, instead of apologizing, his response was a very curt and assuming “well we don’t have an unlimited amount of ice cream.”

When I was just starting to enjoy the original flavour I ordered, the waffle cone completely disintegrated. So I went back to the window to ask for a bowl, but I was ignored. So I said “hey this is falling apart - could you please pass me a bowl?”. After it was handed to me and I was walking away I heard a whispered comment about my weight. Now just having had a baby I get it - I’m not exactly thin. So I again let it slide. But at this point the undersized scoop made sense. The consensus was that I simply didn’t “need” a full size scoop.

Now I am not one to hold a grudge. So tonight I said to my family - hey let’s get some Two-Scoop before they close. So we all headed back again. When we I arrived I was the first person there, and as I was deciding on what to order, Steve came over and very abruptly said to me “I don’t appreciate the way you spoke to me the other day”. His tone was aggressive and at no point did he ask what had happened or make an effort to understand why I might have seemed a bit upset. I told him my statement to him was meant as a joke and apologized if he was offended. He did not soften one bit - he aggressively said he “was not laughing” and he accepted my apology but with an air of “don’t let it happen again”. I was a bit upset at this point so I tried to explain to him what really happened and why I felt insulted at the time, but I was too upset to get the words out properly. At no point did he apologize for what happened. In fact I apologized again, stupidly.

TL; DR

After paying for a product that wasn’t received, I was humiliated and discriminated against. Then I was forced to apologize for being upset about it.

In summary: The ice cream itself - though a bit overpriced - is very yummy, if they have a flavour you like. The service, on the other hand, is disgusting.

Edit to add: If a woman simply speaking her truth is so offensive to you, your internalized misogyny definitely needs to...

We come here every year, and have for the past 8. Was our favourite summer treat. Recently, we came here to enjoy some ice cream, but had a negative experience, just to basically be told that I was wrong.

The young kid at the till took our order. I wanted to try some new ice cream, but same waffle cone. I asked “1 cinnamon bun scoop in a waffle cone please”. After ordering the ice cream, I tipped the individual 15% on top of our $25 order.

My ice cream was the first one out. It was on a regular cone. So I mentioned it to the individual who had taken our order, and he walked away. When he came back with the other cones, I repeated to him again, that my order was wrong. He bluntly told me that I got what I paid for, and that I didn’t pay the $1.25 extra for a waffle cone. I told him that I had ASKED for a waffle cone, and he told me no. He went to the back, and spoke with one of the ladies back there for a couple minutes, when she proceeded to come to the counter and tell me that I was wrong, and that if I wanted a waffle cone, NOT to say I wanted a regular waffle cone (which I never had said). I had my disagreement with this woman, but she didn’t seem interested to hear my side of the story, or consider that the kid in the front may have fibbed to her, because he got my order wrong.

I do enjoy this place, and likely will come back. But this was a pathetic example of customer service, after being tipped for a service you provided poorly. Anybody reading this… DO NOT TIP THESE WORKERS UNTIL YOU...

Went there a couple weeks ago, was charged for a waffle cone even though i did not ask for one, i asked the lady if we could get our change back for the cone we paid for, as one of the other coworkers shouts at me "its the same price" ... even though i had just asked my partner to check the price list upfront that said they cost more than a bowl would. Anyways the lady scooping my ice cream tried to hand me the cone (as if i wanted to just take it cause i paid for it ) ... but i just said sorry no, i dont want a cone. They were extremely busy and some confusion amongst the workers there with all the orders. 3/4 of us got our ice creams.. and then we waited another 10 mins where we had to ask what happened to the 4th.. ( they forgot )Anyways this is typically not the case when we go there, but I'm guessing the manager was the one that stepped in, maybe over heard, gave me a complete refund for one of our ice creams. That was great! thanks for doing that :) ice cream is always so good, will still send everyone who drives through yahk...

Stopping off at Two Scoop Steve, we were met by a strange sight of a goat leaving the attic of a soap store to walk across the roof covered in grass. We immediately knew this was an interesting neighborhood and we confirmed that Two Scoop Steve was an equalling interesting and delicious store as well. The staff was very engaging and they were hilarious to talk to, the store let us have half scoops of different flavors that we were stuck between, and they made an interesting waffle cone in-store. This cone had bacon inside of it and it was intriguing and definitely a must try. They had about 25 flavors of ice cream, along with some custom flavors of their own. Behind the store was Moyie River and it was furnished with patio tables, chairs, and magazines. Along with some witty humor laced about the area. The overall experience was a delight, and a must have stop for ice cream connoisseurs.

Friendly people, great flavor selection, and a lovely short stroll out back to enjoy the view of the river while enjoying your ice cream. It was raining when we visited, and we ate in the cafe area behind the ice cream counter. Just FYI, one scoop proved to be enough for me, but who am I to judge....
