Good food. Great service and a beauty location. BUT.... The gin coming out of this distirlliery is pure garbage. When you open the bottle you can smell pure alcohol from 3 feet away as if you just entered a store and sanitized your hands. There is zero flavor of Juniper and the taste will make you gag. I drink Bombay East at 42.5% and it is fantastic. This at 43% is the equivalent of turpentine. I brought the bottle to 3 gin drinkers houses and they all gagged at the first smell and refused to drink it. Step up your game or pull the product. This is horrible gin and I will ensure no one Nuys it at this price point.

So grateful to have three amazing restaurants in the Blind Bay Country market. Took some guests last week to Spinnaker’s and I had the crab cakes with pineapple salsa - very tasty and creative. Went back again today and had the special: hand made ricotta gnocchi with braised short rib meat, mushrooms and truffle oil. This dish was insane with flavour and the gnocchi were tender and flavourful. This dish is a winner, I hope it becomes a permanent menu item 😬

Excellent ownership, very yummy all day breakfast, great service. What else can you ask for? Ample parking, friendly staff and prices were fair. To all guests to Blind Bay and regulars this is an amazing place. And their specialty coffee and hot chocolate was so delicious and tasty. 😎🇨🇦🍁🇨🇦

My friend and I have been enjoying Spinnakers for a number of years now and have always had the best service. Unfortunately, the last three times we have been I cannot say the same. On July 27th we walked up for our usual coffee and muffin and waited 25 minutes before being acknowledged. We have been going long enough that we know some of the servers by name and Carla finally ended up coming to our table and asking if we had been looked after. Nope, so she took our order (it was not her section) and took care of us as usual. After we finished and went to pay, the girl who was SUPPOSED to be our server came over and asked if we would like more coffee and took one plate away. We had to go in and get the bill and noticed that Kirsten’s name was on the bill (she was suppose to be the server) so if rang in she would get the tip!!! NO WAY! That is just plain cheeky! So we gave Carla the tip separately. The reason I am posting this is because we are always willing to support anyone local, but since the new owners have taken over the service (not the food) is terrible! If they do not get more staff for wait service and at least one bus person, people are going to go elsewhere. I have seen how hard most of the staff works there and they are going to get burnt out and quit! I hope the new owners read this and take...

What a great cafe!

I stopped in here while I was in town for a few days. I liked it so much that I ended up having breakfast here every morning for the week I was there!

The food was great, Cajun skillet was so good, such a big portion, really flavourful and absolutely delicious. And consistently good too, as I had ordered the same dish all week because it was so good.

The atmosphere was great too, really friendly and cozy small town vibes. Always a full house full of smiles and everyone seemed so kind.

The service was great too! Kim was my server every morning I was there and without skipping a beat, she had my coffee cup filled with a smile with some warm friendly banter, and after the second time there she had my order down and sent it back to the kitchen as soon as I got in. She was really friendly and made sure I had everything I needed. And she seemed to be running around the whole restaurant taking care of everyone equally with the same energy and kindness she did for me!

Great spot, very clean, delicious food, fair prices, good vibes, amazing service. I only had breakfast but I heard the dinner is just as amazing. If you’re in town or passing through, I highly reccomend stopping in.

Thanks for fueling me everyday!...

Response to owner's reply: I made direct eye contact with 2 servers and a cook, which should have been enough considering we were sitting at an empty table with no drinks the entire time. After watching three tables that came in after us order and receive drinks and then place their orders, I would sooner leave than have to tell a server how to do their job. I'm sure her friends were very happy with their service though.

Original review: We have been here a handful of times over the past couple of years but just walked out after watching 3 groups that came in after us get served before we did. It wasn't great to watch the younger 1818 server help a group of her friends (they came in at least 5 minutes after us and she seated them outside) three times before we were even greeted.

We will go somewhere that wants to serve us...
