We had an incredible late lunch dining experience here overlooking the estate and Osoyoos Valley. Beef Carpaccio to start paired with Athene was one of the best culinary experiences that my senses have experienced in a while. The textures and flavours of the tapioca crisp and crunchy parmesan, juxtaposed with perfectly sliced carpaccio and shimeji mushrooms with fresh herbs blew me away. The Pea, Mint, and Lemon Risotto was a perfect fresh, summertime lunch main. Paired lovingly with the Estate Sauvignon Blanc took the dish to the next level. We couldn’t leave without having some fresh Sorbet and Ice cream to cap our experience off and boy am I glad we did. I had a taste of the rich Dulce de Leche Ice Cream, and the fresh Raspberry Sorbet but barely let my parter get near the scoop of Lemon Sorbet because it was too good! I can’t say enough about how welcomed we felt and how warm, friendly, and hospitable the staff were. Thank you to the whole team for making our day!

The restaurant is huge, and beautiful, with lovely patio dining overlooking the valley. This was by far the best meal we've had on the trip. The Ahi tuna had a fennel and cumin crust that was stellar, and was served with a smoked wine reduction. The grilled cheese on their fresh baked and toasted focaccia was also wonderful. It's cherry season, and having passed a hundred cherry fruit stands I had to try the cherry salad with radicchio and goat cheese. It did not disappoint. With lunch I had a flight of their library wines. The winery has been around since the 1990s, making it among the oldest in the area, so they have a very deep library. The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon was very memorable. at $145 Cdn on the very extensive wine list (which has exclusively Burrowing Owl Wines) I would be tempted to order a bottle of this next time.

Simply outstanding! The location is amazing with stunning views of the surrounding vineyards. The friendly service was top-notch as our server was very helpful with our choices. We started with the Pan Seared Scallops and despite the fact that the restaurant is some 400km from the coast, the scallops were delicious and cooked to perfection! The BC Salmon, Duck Breast and Beef Striploin were exquisitely tasty. For the striploin dish, the blue cheese cream seemed an odd addition with the onion tart only because its flavour is so strong, but it was an amazing combination! The desserts - Chocolate Terrine, Sticky Toffee Pudding – were a perfect end to a perfect meal. We very strongly recommend the Sonora restaurant when you visit the Burrowing Owl Winery and don’t forget to visit the tower which is accessed from the restaurant.

Two of us enjoyed a relaxed lunch while on vacation in the region. We started with a wine tasting at the winery, then strolled over for our reservation for lunch. The restaurant was only about 1/4 full since it was a weekday, but there's ample seating indoors and outdoors for many groups and smaller seating arrangements. We couldn't sit on the patio due to some high wind, but our seat right at the windows made for a wonderful view of the vineyard and surrounding terrain.

The wine list is, as one would expect, very good. We selected a bottle from the "library" of Burrowing Owl bottles unavailable elsewhere -- in our case, a 2014 Chardonnay. We drank half and took the rest out with us.

We shared the warm olives as a starter, which were better than any I've had elsewhere -- and a super-generous portion. Lemon, garlic and rosemary make these quite tasty. Our server recommended a half order of the breads, and we're glad she did -- it was all quite delicious.

Mains were equally delicious and generous. I had the char, which was done to perfection. We splurged and shared a dessert -- carrot cake -- which turned out to be a nice little portion full of flavours (deconstructed carrot cake, plus house-made ginger ice cream).

Is it cheap? No. But the views, the impeccable service, and the delicious meal make it worth a visit. In fact, we're already counting the weeks til...

Starting off with saying that our meal was delicious and our service was good. The poor rating comes from not being able to take part in the chef's 6 course tasting menu. I believe it was sometime in May that I booked dinner for three on August 2nd. Shortly after booking I messaged the Sonora Room via the reservation platform they used. I inquired about taking part in the chef's 6 course tasting menu and was informed that that would be possible and nothing was needed at that point as the menu was still being developed. Then closer about two weeks before the reservation I checked in again via the reservation platform and staff assured me that we'd be able to take part in the 6 course tasting menu. So I was quite surprised and disappointed when we arrived for our meal and asked to do the tasting menu and told it was not being offered. I tried to reach out to the Sonora Room staff member that I was communicating with online to see what the disconnection was but I never...
