Finally had the opportunity to visit for lunch, had difficulty finding a friend to go with! Turns out all my friends were right; food isn't great. Pulled pork sandwich had about 1 tablespoon of meat that was more of a paste. Server never came back for a quality check. Website pushes fresh food and chefs creativity, however, neither evident on the plate or menu. Staff were very keen to know why the food wasn't eaten when we decided to leave, that's when they had returned to the table, however, no apology, kind words or thought of a free drink. Nothing. Fish and Duck Pub is the biggest hidden jewel on Vancouver Island. Newly renovated, this place has a wicked atmosphere/service and unparalleled views over looking the lake. Whether youre sitting on the patio or inside the music and atmosphere is always a great vibe. The staff are super friendly and owners are willing to bend over backwards for anyone who comes out. The food is absolutely outstanding as well. Lastly, this place is attached to a multitude of different airbnb opportunities, houseboat rentals and a dock so you can come visit directly from the water! 15/10...

First and last time visiting. Ordered chicken wings, nachos and 2 piece fish and chips. Chicken wings were decent. Nachos were soggy and missing ingredients - terribly plated. Fish meat was good, batter was burnt and inedible. Environment didn’t feel clean, windows were rotten with many dead bugs and dirt buildup. Drinks were cold lol, that’s a plus.
