Prospector Pub — Restaurant in Area E (Beaverdell/West Boundary)

Nice looking place. Just stopped in today to check out the menu and quickly use the washroom. The place was vacant, nobody came out to seat us, or ask us what we needed. When I was in the washroom, the elderly "waitress" came and rudely told my girlfriend the washroom is for "customers only", and asked her to leave after she explained I was in the washroom. They also have a lottery sign, so we asked if we could check a lottery ticket. She snapped quickly, "they do that at the gas station." After that we refused to order anything and promptly left. Rudest restaurant I have ever had the displeasure of stopping by. No idea how they stay in business with that attitude. My advice, never stop here, you will be extremely disappointed unless you are a local. Don't waste your time. I wish I could give it 0 stars for the rude horrible old lady that pretends to be a waitress. There's other spots, and is rather make my own food anyways, because I doubt anything would be good here, and I wouldn't doubt she would "tamper" with people's food she didn't like. Once again, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR HARD EARNED MONEY!!! Now I know why the place was completely void of customers. Go somewhere else where you'll be appreciated and treated with respect. 4 thumbs...

I was really excited to come here for dinner after reading all the reviews. We must have came on a wrong day but we decided to come here on our last night in Rock Creek for dinner on a Sunday with a group of friends. The service is absolutely horrendous, I can understand they may have been understaffed (one waitress) for the whole place AND the one making the drinks too so you can imagine the delay but the real problem is when there is a mistake on your bill and asking her to correct it, her comment was with sass and attitude “did you not order a poutine on your plate?” um yes I did lady however you charged me twice AND charged me for a beer I did not order. She fixes our bill but still had the beer on there, at this point I was not going to point out another mistake and proceeded to pay my bill and tipped for her awful service and attitude. You’d think when you’re overwhelmed knowing your customers are already waiting longer, you would be extra nice instead of giving your customers sass and attitude. We come to Rock Creek every summer, this was my first and last experience. I definitely will not be coming back to this pub ever again. I have a large social media following and will be warning everyone...

BLUF: If you enjoy pleasant, quick service, even when the food is excellent, eat somewhere else.

Been there twice to eat. The first time we sat at an indoor table for about five minutes. Servers passed us. We decided to sit outside. I flagged a server down and asked for a menu. She brusquely told me I needed to sit down and someone would give me a menu and take my order.

It was extremely off-putting and as I planned for a compensatory tip, we were served by a delightful male server who was attentive and humorous. He got a 25% tip and I learned I love poutine.

Went back tonight. Sat inside for about 25 minutes. Half the tables were empty. The brusque server and another server were taking care of customers. No one even acknowledged our presence. Looked like brusque server had our side of the room. I already knew the pub rules and sat as expected. We got more and more frustrated. My date suggested getting menus. I told her about my experience with that two nights ago. She demurred.

I looked up another pub 10 minutes away in Midway. As we left, I let the bartender know that we had been waiting and suggested they look at how they provide services to customers. He kind of nodded and we left....
