Loco Beanz — Restaurant in Assiginack Township

Stopped in on the May long weekend Saturday afternoon to look around and order something, I had never been in before. When I walked in there were 2 people behind the counter, no one greeted me, no one asked if they could help me with anything or if I wanted anything. I continued to walk around for a few minutes and look at the items they had for sale not food related thinking the 2 must be busy doing something important. I then stood for a couple minutes in front of where I assumed people normally would order food and drink, I wasn't really sure as no one had bothered to acknowledge my presence, maybe they were preparing to close? Not sure as everything was a guess. At this point I just gave up and decided to leave and go to the food truck on the edge of the village I'd seen upon my arrival from my friend's cottage just out of town. They should change the name of the business to "Local" Beanz as in the only people they most likely are quick to acknowledge or...

This Loco Beanz coffee shop is one of three located on Manitoulin Island. The Manitowaning location offers side street parking.

The coffee shop has a retro vibe and cozy feel. The store is a bit slow, but it’s understandable given the short staff. The staff was amazing and friendly.

I ordered their frappe, which comes in four flavours: vanilla, chocolate, matcha, and salted caramel. I chose the salted caramel. It was good, and they do have a lactose-free option for those who are lactose intolerant.

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, and nice decorations inside. However it gets too crowded when two groups go inside. Tip toeing around the chairs is like walking in a minefield. Queueing up to order is awkward with the placement of the menu chalk board, and the location of the flavor shots. The parking lot isn't any better if could call it a lot, most of the time just park on the side of the road. I like having a cup of coffee but from where it's like taking a shot of fireball whiskey.
