Dairy Queen — Restaurant in Atholville

This location has a very strict policy regarding bringing any outside food items with you to eat with your meal. Due to food restrictions, I brought an item from another establishment to eat with my otherwise DQ meal, as my 85 year old mother, who was accompanying me, loves DQ. I was informed that I could not eat it at their location. After explaining my situation I was told that “ I don’t make the rules” by the cashier. I asked to speak with the manager. She simply looked our way and shook her head “no” rather than speaking with us. I have fond memories of eating at this location with my school chums, however this experience has tainted my feelings towards this DQ. If you have food restrictions and want to dine with family and friends, go elsewhere.

Response to owners request: I have already shared my experience through the DQ feedback page, a day prior to posting here. I received a quick response from International Dairy Queen, Inc thanking me for my feedback, and saying that my “comments have been documented and forwarded to the independent franchise owner of this restaurant for their information and investigation.” Feel free to contact me.

Update: Fifteen days have passed and I have still not heard from anyone from Dairy...

Really great ice coffee, very rich and tasty. The slushies had an excellent Kool aid taste. The mini blizzard was meh. Would comment on the rest of the meal but the girl at the counter only gave me part of my order. Was a mobile order, so the order details would have been on the screen infront of her so not sure how, when I said I think I had more, she said no that was all I ordered. When I got to the car to confirm with my wife nope the order has much more. We were tired after 5 hours of driving so just went home. Dissatisfied with the service and I always try and find something good about customer service at place I purchase goods from.

Edit: gave them a second chance based on the other reviews, much better service this time but again was a mobile order and they seemed a bit taken back / didn't check the mobile orders. If eating here just order when you arrive or via the...

I don't eat here often and the times I have in the past were always pretty good but Sunday July 10th was horrible. I couldn't even eat my food it was so cold and disgusting. I ended up throwing it in the garbage after two bites of my burger. The poutine was ice cold. The tables were all very dirty and my husband had to ask for napkins and cleaned off the table with hand sanitizer.... They were also very busy this day maybe that had something to do with it.... None the less I won't be going back for...
